Encourage new forms of presentation

One of the highlights of this year’s competition is the change in the way entries are presented. The Organizing Committee not only requires essays to be written in English like last season, but also encourages contestants to express their ideas in more creative and vivid forms.

Contestants can supplement their entries with video clips and PowerPoints, allowing them to freely express their personalities and persuasive abilities through images and sounds. This is an opportunity for young people to develop their creativity, making their entries intellectual products that can be accessed through many senses.

According to the Organizing Committee, adding new presentation formats not only helps contestants develop their presentation skills and visual thinking, but also helps ideas be expressed more clearly and attractively. This is especially important in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) - where technological solutions not only require good ideas but also the ability to communicate to be able to convince investors, partners, and the user community.

Participation of international schools

Compared to the first season, Vietnam AI Contest 2024 witnessed an expansion in scale when for the first time there was the participation of international schools in Vietnam, especially in big cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. This is an important step forward, affirming the attraction and prestige of the contest in the student community, not only in public schools but also in international educational institutions - where there is a diverse academic environment.

Notably, many contestants demonstrated outstanding abilities with impressive profiles, professional writing, and sharp logical thinking. They brought new and more creative perspectives on AI applications, thereby creating competition and richness for the competition. The participation of international contestants not only helps improve the quality of the competition, but also creates opportunities for Vietnamese students to interact and learn from international friends.

Candidates from different schools combine to form groups.

One of the surprising new features of this year’s competition is the combination of contestants from different schools to form a competition team. The fact that students from schools in different localities such as Hanoi, Da Nang, and Can Tho cooperate and form a competition team shows the connecting power that Vietnam AI Contest creates. This will be a forum for young people to interact, learn and exchange experiences.

The diverse teams not only bring diversity in approach to problems, but also encourage teamwork – an important factor in the technology industry. This also opens up opportunities for candidates to practice collaboration and project management skills – essential skills in the international and interdisciplinary working environment of the future.

Multinational group of candidates

The presence of multinational contestant groups in Vietnam AI Contest 2024 is a positive sign; it shows that the contest has had a great influence not only in the Vietnamese student community, but also attracted the attention of students from many different countries studying in Vietnam.

Contestants from countries such as Korea, Japan, France, and Vietnamese students have created multicultural and multilingual teams, bringing new colors to the contest. According to the Organizing Committee, this not only contributes to enriching creative ideas, but also helps Vietnamese contestants have the opportunity to approach and work with international friends.

Interest of international students

Another notable point of this year’s competition is the growing interest from the Vietnamese international student community. The competition organizers have received many questions from Vietnamese international students, as well as foreign students (currently abroad) about whether they can participate in the competition.

However, according to current regulations, the contest is only open to students studying in Vietnam, so students abroad are not eligible to participate.

“However, the interest of international and Vietnamese students abroad is a positive signal that the Vietnam AI Contest has the potential to expand and attract global contestants in the future,” said the Organizing Committee representative.

With creative innovations, Vietnam AI Contest 2024 brings an exciting and surprising season. The contest is not only a place for contestants to showcase their talents, but also a playground for young people to connect, learn, and develop in an advanced technology environment.
