The expected benchmark score of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology is from 21 to 27, in which Information Technology and Computer Science are the highest.
At the online admissions consulting program organized by the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology on the afternoon of July 20, Associate Professor Dr. Le Huu Lap, former Deputy Director of the Academy, gave a prediction of this year's benchmark scores based on the results of the high school graduation exam.
According to the score distribution of each subject and some combinations announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, Mr. Lap said that the three popular combinations that the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology uses for admission are A00, A01 and D01, which have not changed much. The school's criteria for considering high school graduation exam scores are also similar. Therefore, Mr. Lap predicted that the school's admission scores will not change much.
Accordingly, the Information Technology and Computer Science industries are forecasted to have the highest input level, around 26.5-27. Some industries will take 26-26.5, including Information Security, Multimedia Technology, E-commerce, and Marketing.
Most majors are predicted by Mr. Lap to take 24 or more, including new majors this year such as Control and Automation Engineering, Computer Networks and Data Communications.
As for the Information Technology bachelor's program, the application-oriented program, the benchmark score will be the lowest, at 21-22, suitable for candidates who like this major but do not have enough points to be admitted to the engineering program.
Mr. Lap predicts the standard scores of the majors of the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology as follows:
TT | Training industry | Expected benchmark |
1 | Electronics and telecommunications engineering | 25.5 - 26.5 |
2 | Electrical and electronic engineering technology | 25 - 25.5 |
3 | Information technology | 26.5 - 27+ |
4 | Information security | 26 - 26.5 |
5 | Computer Science | 26.5 - 27 |
6 | Multimedia technology | 26 - 26.5 |
7 | Multimedia | 25.5 - 26.5 |
8 | Press | 24 - 25 |
9 | Business administration | 25 - 25.5 |
10 | E-commerce | 26 - 26.5 |
11 | Marketing | 26 - 26.5 |
12 | Accountant | 25 - 25.5 |
13 | Financial technology | 25 - 26 |
14 | Control and automation engineering | 25 - 26 |
15 | Information Technology - CLC | 25.5 - 26 |
16 | Bachelor of Information Technology (Applied Orientation) | 21 - 22 |
17 | Computer networks and data communications | 25.5 - 26 |
Mr. Lap emphasized that the above scores are only predictions. Candidates with scores lower than the above levels can still make a choice. For example, candidates with 23-24 points can make a choice for the Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering major.
This year, the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology will recruit nearly 4,300 students using four methods: considering high school graduation exam scores (55% of total enrollment), considering ability and thinking assessment test scores (15%), and considering combined admission according to a separate project and according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (30%).
The school has announced the benchmark scores for early admission methods, in which Computer Science has the highest score for all methods and Accounting has the lowest.
In terms of the high school graduation exam results, last year the school's benchmark score ranged from 19 to 27.25. At the northern campus, the highest score was 27.25 for Information Technology, and 26.9 for Computer Science. At the southern campus, the benchmark score was lower, ranging from 19 to 25.85.
Tuition fees at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology are expected to be around 24.5-27.8 million VND for the general program. For the high-quality program in Information Technology, the average tuition fee is around 42 million VND per year. Meanwhile, the tuition fee for the Bachelor of Information Technology program with an application orientation is around 30.5 million VND.
