(Dan Tri) - From Japan, Thu Thao called home but no one answered. When she turned on the camera, she caught the moment her father-in-law taught his grandson to dance.

"Mom and Dad are working far away, I called home but grandpa didn't answer, turned on the camera and saw the two of them singing and dancing, so good, my dear daughter. Mom misses you so much" - Thu Thao (30 years old) choked up when posting a video about her daughter in February 2023.

In the video, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hanh (61 years old, Cao Minh commune, Vinh Bao district, Hai Phong) is teaching his grandson Nguyen Hoang Phuong Anh (3 years old) each movement, from clapping to jumping to the music on TV.

In each movement, Mr. Hanh's face lit up with a bright smile when he saw his granddaughter clapping and jumping along with him.

Thu Thao and her husband live and work in Hokkaido (Japan). Taking advantage of her free time every evening, she often calls home to ask about her husband's parents and daughter.

"I called him but he didn't answer the phone. I thought something was happening at home, so I turned on the camera and captured the lovely moment between the two of us," Thao recalled.

At the time of posting, the video attracted more than 1.5 million views. Now, when she shared it again, this moment continues to spread widely on social networks. Below the video, many people expressed their emotions at the warm actions of the grandfather for his granddaughter.

"Grandparents raised dad, now they continue to raise their grandchild. If grandpa loves his granddaughter like this, parents can work with peace of mind," reader Tu Linh wrote.

"The two grandparents are so adorable. I wish them good health and peace. It's true that when parents work far away, leaving their children with their grandparents is the most reassuring thing," user Huyen Yen confided.

Thu Thao and her husband went to work in Japan in 2018, met each other and got married. In 2021, she returned to Vietnam to give birth, while her husband stayed in Japan.

In 2022, her husband came back to visit their child for a few months, then they sent the child to his grandparents and returned to Japan. At that time, Hoang Anh was only 18 months old.

Since the day his son and his wife went to Japan, Mr. Hanh and Mrs. Do Thi Nhanh (59 years old) have been taking care of everything at home, from taking care of and educating their grandchildren. Knowing that his wife had joint pain, Mr. Hanh was worried and quit his job to go home to farm and help take care of his grandchildren.

"I am grateful to my in-laws for taking care of the baby for my husband and I. They love him because he had to be away from both his parents when he was so young, so they always take care of him gently," Thao said.

From Japan, every day after work, Thao and her husband take the time to call to ask about the health of her parents and daughter.

Thanks to the camera in her hometown, she often records other lovely moments of the grandfather and grandson, such as exercising together before going to bed, practicing performing arts, singing and dancing.

"It's been 2 years since I left my daughter. When she left, she was barely able to say a word. Now that she's older, every time my grandparents or parents scold me, I say, 'Apologize to your sister,'" Thao confided.

She expressed surprise when the image of the grandfather and grandchild received much attention and love from everyone. She plans to return to Vietnam to reunite with her family in a few years when the economy is stable.

"When I can't sleep, I often watch videos of my child. No matter how tired we are, we encourage each other to try hard for the future of our small family. I hope my child will be obedient and healthy with his grandparents," Thao said.
