On the evening of March 2, Mai Phuong and 111 contestants of the Miss World 2024 pageant entered the Top Model - Fashion Beauty competition held in India. This is considered an important competition of Miss World.
During the competition night, Mai Phuong and the contestants performed in two parts. In the first part, they presented designs by domestic designers and in the second part, they presented designs by the organizers.
In the first part, Mai Phuong performed with the contestants of the Asia-Pacific group. She was the one who closed the show with an outfit called Pearl Rain.

The design is inspired by the beauty of pearls, each pearl starts from a simple grain of sand, through the process of polishing, the pearls become sparkling and radiate their own pure light.
The highlight of the design was the skirt that was held up behind Mai Phuong's back. In the final moment, Mai Phuong left an impression by lowering the skirt, surprising the audience.
Despite her impressive performance, Mai Phuong lost the World Designer Award in the Asia-Pacific region to the host representative, India.
Moving on to the second performance, the catwalk encountered problems when small accessories on the costumes of the beauties performing before caused difficulties for the contestants while catwalking.
The Belgian beauty unfortunately slipped and fell, causing the contestants performing after her to be wary. The organizers had to stop the show for about 15 minutes to clean the catwalk.
In the second performance, the contestants all wore black outfits. The Vietnamese representative wore a modest flared dress with a gentle, elegant style.
At the end of this competition, the organizers announced the list of top 20 of the Top Model competition divided by continent.
In the Asia-Pacific region, 5 beauties were named in the top 20 including India, Indonesia, Philippines, Türkiye, Lebanon. In the European region, there were beauties from Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Scotland, Slovakia. In the Americas region, there were beauties from Brazil, Canada, Dominican Republic, Martinique, Peru. In the African region, there were beauties from Botswana, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Togo.
In the end, the title of Top Model of this year's contest was awarded to the beauty of Martinique - Axelle Rene. She is the 7th beauty to win a ticket straight to the top 40 in the final round of Miss World 2024.
Thus, Mai Phuong continued to be empty-handed in the Top Model sub-contest. She will only have a chance to go straight to the top 40 if she performs well in the Beauty with a Heart contest.
The Miss World 2024 final will take place on March 9, broadcast live on VTV9 at 9 p.m. This year's competition has 112 contestants.
