In an interview with the press on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025), Brazilian historian and journalist De Oliviera affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam plays a central role in Vietnam's modern history and is one of the oldest and most influential political organizations in Asia.

Referring to the birth and development of the Communist Party of Vietnam, journalist De Oliviera highlighted the role of President Ho Chi Minh in the cause of liberating the Vietnamese nation, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945.

Mr. De Oliviera, also Secretary General of the Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Association, recalled the glorious feats of arms of the Vietnamese army and people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, in defeating the French army in the Dien Bien Phu campaign "famous in five continents, shaking the earth" in 1954 and the US army in the Spring campaign in 1975, reunifying the country.

In the process of rebuilding and building the country after the war, Mr. De Oliviera especially emphasized the role of the Communist Party of Vietnam when proposing the Doi Moi policy implemented since 1986. This is an economic reform aimed at transforming from a centralized, planned economic model to a market-oriented, export-oriented economic model.

According to journalist Oliviera, thanks to the efforts to implement Doi Moi over the past 40 years, Vietnam's economy achieved a growth rate of 7.09% in 2024, with a gross domestic product (GDP) of 476.3 billion USD. Today, Vietnam is an important link in the global supply chain.

Mr. Oliviera also highly appreciated the policies being implemented recently by the Communist Party of Vietnam, including administrative reform, streamlining the apparatus, improving management and service efficiency through digital transformation in public administration, cutting costs, improving the business environment and enhancing national competitiveness...

Journalist De Oliviera highly appreciated Vietnam's foreign policy, especially its contributions to regional and international issues. Vietnam is an active member of ASEAN, promoting regional integration, conflict resolution and economic cooperation. Vietnam successfully hosted the ASEAN Summit in 1998, 2010 and 2020, promoting the building of the ASEAN Community.

In economic integration, Vietnam pursues many multilateral trade agreements such as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) to strengthen economic relations and attract foreign investment.

Mr. De Oliviera also affirmed Vietnam's active role and contributions to United Nations peacekeeping missions since 2014, demonstrating its commitment to world security.

Referring to the relationship between the two countries, Mr. De Oliviara positively evaluated the results of the visit to Vietnam in 2023 by Brazilian Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Luciana Santos, who is also the President of the Brazilian Communist Party, with the establishment of special cooperation agreements in the semiconductor sector and creating opportunities for VINFAST Group to open an electric car factory in Brazil.

During Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's working visit to Brazil and his attendance at the G20 Summit in late 2024, the two countries established a strategic partnership. Brazil is Vietnam's largest trading partner in Latin America, while Vietnam is Brazil's important trading partner in Southeast Asia.
