On the morning of June 27, the Organizing Committee of Hanoi Concert 2024 (VACC 2024) held a press conference to announce that the event will take place on October 12 and 13, 2024 at Hoan Kiem Theater, Hanoi, marking the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).

The program introduces unique performances including: Vietnam's National Anthem arranged by musician Do Hong Quan, classic pieces performed by the Russian National Orchestra (RNO) under the baton of conductor César Álvarez (Spain), a special performance by piano soloist Eva Gevorgyan (Russia) and some ballet excerpts by principal dancers from the Bolshoi Theater.

Sharing at the press conference, conductor César Álvarez introduced pianist Eva Gevorgyan: "She is a world-class musical talent, performing with many famous orchestras and conductors. I have known Eva Gevorgyan since I was 14 years old and now she is 21 years old, a talented and beautiful pianist."

The conductor also shared that on the night of October 12, VACC 2024 will present a piano concerto and a symphony by Tchaikovsky. On the night of October 13, the orchestra will perform symphonies accompanied by ballet excerpts by four talented ballerinas from the Bolshoi Theater.

Musician Quoc Trung - General Director of VACC 2024 - also said that the Organizing Committee has been in contact with RNO since last year and the two upcoming performances in Hanoi are part of the orchestra's world tour schedule.

"I participated in recording a performance of the Vietnamese orchestra, but in which there were many soloists and conductors of the Russian Symphony Orchestra with a Russian conductor. I realized that the Vietnamese Symphony Orchestra has never had such a wonderful sound.

I am sure that the symphonies that will be performed next October will bring the audience a special experience. Because Russia is the country with the oldest classical music in the world and until now, they still have the ability to play the world's top classical music. Therefore, César Álvarez is very confident that the orchestra will bring surprises to the audience," musician Quoc Trung affirmed.

The RNO Orchestra was founded in Moscow in 1990 by conductor Mikhail Pletnev and has become the embodiment and one of the brightest symbols of the Russian musical tradition. In 2004, the RNO became the first orchestra in the history of Russian symphony orchestras to receive a Grammy Award. The most prestigious music magazine in Europe, Gramophone, ranked the Russian National Symphony Orchestra among the 20 best orchestras in the world.

Held regularly since 2017, VACC is the first outdoor classical concert in Vietnam with the participation of famous international symphony orchestras in the world. However, in 2024, the program will be held at the Hoan Kiem Theater. This is a cultural event to promote propaganda and promote the image of tourism in the capital.
