The 11th Congress of Uncle Ho's Good Children of Dong Thap Province

DTO - On March 22, at the hall of the Provincial Youth Activity Center (My Phu Ward, Cao Lanh City), the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee and the Provincial Pioneer Council organized the 11th Uncle Ho's Good Children Congress of Dong Thap Province - 2025.

Attending the Congress were comrades: Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Phan Van Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Secretary of the Party Committee of the provincial Party agencies; Tran Tri Quang - Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Acting Secretary of the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee; representatives of the Central Council of Young Pioneers; leaders of a number of departments, branches, sectors, the Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations of the province; former leaders of the Provincial Youth Union, the Provincial Council of Young Pioneers of all periods, and 200 delegates who are outstanding young pioneers and children representing more than 200,000 young pioneers and children in the province.

In the period of 2020 - 2025, the work of the Young Pioneers and the children's movement, especially the movement "Vietnamese children compete to follow Uncle Ho's 5 teachings" has been implemented and achieved many remarkable results. Young Pioneers and children in the province constantly strive, compete in studying and actively participate in movements and campaigns such as: "Vietnamese children - Study well, practice hard", "Small plan" movement, "Thousands of good deeds"...

In addition, team members and children also responded to participate in gratitude activities, repaying gratitude, and supporting team members in difficult circumstances. In the past 5 years, more than 1,500 activities were organized, 90,000 team members and students in difficult circumstances were helped, more than 50 "Red Scarf Houses" were built with a total value of more than 23.5 billion VND. Through these activities, they contributed to creating a beneficial training environment, helping team members and children develop comprehensively in terms of knowledge, ethics and skills. At the same time, many good models, effective methods, and exemplary team members appeared and spread, further enhancing the glorious tradition of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team.

Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Tran Tri Quang - Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Acting Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee acknowledged and commended the achievements of the team members and children in the whole province in the past time. At the same time, he expressed his hope that in the coming time, the team members and children in the province will continue to make efforts to study, practice, promote traditions, follow the footsteps of their predecessors; strive to follow Uncle Ho's 5 teachings, actively participate in the Team and Youth Union movements, and age-appropriate social activities. Party committees and authorities at all levels pay more attention to the work of protecting, caring for and promoting the right to participate of children, especially children in difficult circumstances. The Youth Union and Young Pioneers at all levels promote a sense of responsibility, organize age-appropriate movements, meet the needs and aspirations of children, create a healthy environment to help them develop comprehensively both physically and mentally, practice skills, develop personality, become excellent team members, continue the glorious tradition of the Young Pioneers, and be worthy of being Uncle Ho's good children.

At the Congress, 11 collectives with outstanding achievements in the work of protecting, caring for, and educating adolescents and children in the period of 2020 - 2025 received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; 30 outstanding team members with outstanding achievements in implementing the movement "Vietnamese children compete to follow Uncle Ho's 5 teachings in the period of 2020 - 2025" were awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee. The Congress selected 7 outstanding delegates representing team members and children of Dong Thap province to attend the 10th National Uncle Ho's Good Children Congress - 2025. On this occasion, businesses and sponsors presented 20 scholarships, 5 "Red Scarf Houses", 3 dental chairs and equipment with a total value of more than 1.9 billion VND.

Earlier, on the same morning (March 22), at the Provincial Martyrs' Cemetery, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee and the Provincial Youth Union Council held a ceremony to report achievements, offer incense and present certificates and symbols to 200 team members who achieved the title of Good Children of Uncle Ho at the provincial level. Many individuals were commended by the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee for their outstanding achievements in the work of protecting, caring for and educating children and adolescents in the period of 2020 - 2025. In addition, in the series of activities of the Congress, many exciting activities took place such as: the exhibition "Cultural and creative space of children" and organizing folk games for team members and children to participate.
