On January 30, a working delegation of the Ministry of Public Security led by Lieutenant General Tran Minh Le, Director of the Department of Environmental Police, Ministry of Public Security, inspected the work of preventing and combating crimes, law violations, ensuring food safety and environmental issues during the 2024 Lunar New Year and the 2024 Spring Festival at Dong Nai Provincial Police.

According to the report, recently, violations of environment, resources, and food safety (FS) in Dong Nai province have been gradually controlled and changed positively, with no hot spots causing insecurity and disorder.
In particular, during the preparation period for the Lunar New Year 2024, the crime situation and violations of laws on environment, resources, and food safety continue to be controlled.
In 2023, the entire Economic Police force of the Provincial Police discovered and handled 145 cases/151 subjects violating food safety and veterinary laws; prosecuted 1 case/2 defendants, issued decisions to administratively sanction 144 cases/149 subjects with a total amount of over 2 billion VND.
Of which, 62 cases/70 subjects violated the veterinary hygiene administrative regulations, destroying nearly 47 thousand kg of animal products. The Economic Police Department alone detected and handled 18 cases/19 subjects violating the food safety and veterinary regulations.

During the peak of the attack and suppression of all types of crimes to ensure security and order for the 2024 Lunar New Year, the entire Economic Police force of the Provincial Police discovered 22 cases/24 subjects violating food safety regulations, imposed a total fine of 148 million VND, and destroyed 4.6 tons of animals and animal products in violation.
The Economic Police Department has coordinated with the province's interdisciplinary food safety inspection teams to inspect compliance with food safety laws in districts and cities.
At the meeting, the Inspection Team exchanged many opinions to clarify issues of concern.
Based on direct exchanges, representatives of the Economic Police Department, Vinh Cuu District Police and Commanders of the Economic Police Department's professional teams reported to clarify more about the work of preventing and combating crimes, violations of laws on food safety and environmental issues; supplemented information, contributing to clarifying more about the results of the work of preventing and combating crimes, violations of laws related to food safety and hygiene in the province in recent times.
