(Dan Tri) - In about a month, Traffic Police Team No. 15 has handled 15 cases of cycling on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, temporarily confiscating 15 bicycles and imposing fines of more than 5.2 million VND.
On December 7, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, a representative of Hanoi Traffic Police Department said that from November 1 to December 6, Traffic Police Team No. 15 handled 15 cases of cycling on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, thereby temporarily impounding 15 bicycles and imposing fines of more than 5.2 million VND.
Notably, the 15 bicycles seized are expensive sports bikes, so the work of confiscating and preserving assets is always guaranteed.
Major Ngo Tuan Nam, an officer of Traffic Police Team No. 15 (Hanoi Traffic Police Department), on duty on Vo Nguyen Giap Street early in the morning of December 7, said that at around 5:30 a.m. the same day, on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, there were 3 cases of foreigners cycling into the car lane from Noi Bai Airport to Nhat Tan Bridge.
"After discovering three violations, the working group instructed these people to move into the service road area, following the turn to Nguyen Khe commune, Dong Anh district to avoid danger when entering the car lane," said Major Nam.
A representative of the Hanoi Traffic Police Department said that after a long period of handling and propaganda, the phenomenon of people cycling for exercise on the road reserved for cars on Vo Nguyen Giap Street has decreased.
"However, in response to reports that some people still deliberately violate the law, the Hanoi Traffic Police Department still assigns local teams to patrol and handle traffic violations on the route to ensure traffic safety," the Hanoi Traffic Police Department informed.
