Hearing the loud noise, many people sleeping inside quickly ran out into the street, some people were trapped and called for help because the rubble blocked all exits.

The accident caused no casualties, but six kiosks had their front roofs and doors damaged, and an electric pole was broken.

Upon receiving the news, Binh Trieu Traffic Police Team (under the Traffic Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police) and Binh Chieu Ward Police arrived at the scene to handle the incident. The bus company representative also came to coordinate with local police to count the damage.

The initial cause of the accident was determined to be the container truck driver falling asleep.
