Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company celebrates its 10th anniversary

Attending the event were Mr. Dinh The Phuc, Member of the Board of Members of Vietnam Electricity Group; Mr. Nguyen Tien Khoa, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Members of Power Generation Corporation 1; leaders of Thermal Power Companies of provinces and cities in the Central region, and more than 200 officers and employees representing more than 1,200 officers and employees of Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company.

Mr. Ngo Van Sy, Director of Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company, spoke to review 10 years of establishment and development of the Company.

Duyen Hai Power Center, with a total capacity of 4,400 MW/year, is one of the key projects in the National Power Development System Plan for the period 2006 - 2015, with a vision to 2025 and the National Power Development System Plan for the period 2011 - 2025, with a vision to 2030 (Power Plan VII). The project's mission is to ensure a stable and safe power source for the socio-economic development of the South in particular and the whole country in general.

Duyen Hai Power Center includes 04 coal-fired thermal power plants and has the largest coal port in the Mekong Delta today, with a total investment of more than 05 billion USD. In which, the projects invested by Vietnam Electricity Group and Power Generation Corporation 1 include:

Duyen Hai 1 Thermal Power Plant Project, designed capacity 2x622.5MW, invested by Power Generation Corporation 1, started construction on September 19, 2010; completed and put into commercial operation in January 2016.

Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant Project is invested by Power Generation Corporation 1, designed capacity 2x622.5MW, started construction on December 8, 2012; completed and put into commercial operation in March 2017.

The Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant Expansion Project is invested by Vietnam Electricity Group, with a designed capacity of 1x688MW, started construction on December 13, 2014 and put into commercial operation in April 2020.

Duyen Hai Power Center Seaport Project, started on April 21, 2013, put into operation in January 2015, includes 2 coal import terminals, allowing to receive ships with a designed load capacity of up to 30,000 tons.

The Duyen Hai Power Center infrastructure project has been completed and put into use, serving the project construction and operation of generators of Duyen Hai Power Center.

As for the Duyen Hai 2 Thermal Power Plant project, with a capacity of 2x660MW, invested by Janakuasa Group (Malaysia), it was completed and put into commercial operation in June 2021.

At the ceremony, Mr. Ngo Van Sy, Director of the Company, reviewed 10 years of establishment and development. On January 29, 2015, Power Generation Corporation 1 issued Decision No. 27/QD-EVNGENCO1 to establish Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company on the basis of the production preparation force of Thermal Power Project Management Board 3.

Over 10 years of establishment and development, the Company has made remarkable efforts to grow, contributing to ensuring national energy security, pioneering in promoting local economic development, ensuring social security, and aiming for sustainable development goals.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Khoa, Chairman of the Board of Members of Power Generation Corporation 1, thanked the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and Provincial People's Committee for their support and assistance over the past 10 years .

Mr. Nguyen Tien Khoa, Chairman of the Board of Members of Power Generation Corporation 1, expressed his deep gratitude to the local people for their willingness to cooperate and help the Company have a site to implement projects. Mr. Nguyen Tien Khoa thanked the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, leaders of provincial departments and branches; Duyen Hai town... for their commitment and support for the Company to operate effectively over the past 10 years.

In the coming time, Mr. Nguyen Tien Khoa requested the Company to continue to make efforts to strictly and fully implement the provisions of the law on environmental protection. Emissions, wastewater, and waste generated must be treated in accordance with regulations.

Comrade Le Van Han, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the ceremony .

On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Han thanked the Government, the Prime Minister, and the Central ministries and branches for choosing Tra Vinh to implement projects and create an Electricity Center. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company in the past time.

Comrade Le Van Han, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, awarded certificates of merit from the State Capital Management Committee to collectives and individuals .

In addition to maintaining stable electricity production, the Company also actively participates in social security and welfare work in the province with many meaningful activities. Creating jobs and stable income for more than 1,200 local workers, contributing to changing the local economic structure from agriculture and fisheries to gradually moving towards industry and services.

Authorized by the Government, Comrade Lam Minh Dang (third from right) presented the Government's emulation flag to the Board of Directors and leaders of the Company's grassroots Trade Union.

With the achievements, in the next phase, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Company to continue to promote its good traditions, constantly innovate and aim for sustainable development. Maintain safe, reliable, efficient and economical operation of factories, contributing to ensuring national energy security. Take care of the material and spiritual life of workers, actively participate in social security and social welfare.

Comrade Nguyen Quynh Thien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, awarded certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee to the collectives and individuals of the Company.

In order to recognize the contributions of the Company's collectives and individuals in the past time, on this occasion, the Company's staff received the Government's emulation flag for their excellent performance in completing their tasks and leading the emulation movement in 2023. At the same time, 47 certificates of merit were awarded; including 03 collectives and 11 individuals from the Chairman of the Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee; 03 collectives and 10 individuals from the Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee; 05 collectives and 10 individuals from Vietnam Electricity Group and 47 certificates of merit from the Southern Power Corporation: 07 collectives and 40 individuals.
