On the morning of April 10, the Dak Lak Provincial OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council held a ceremony to announce the results of scoring OCOP products in the first phase of 2024. Comrade Nguyen Hoai Duong, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial OCOP Council chaired the conference.

In this round, the council evaluated 22 products of 11 entities in 6 localities including: Cu Mgar, Ea Kar, Cu Kuin, Ea H'leo, Krong Nang districts and Buon Ma Thuot city. After reviewing and evaluating the product profiles, the provincial OCOP product evaluation and classification council selected 17 products to rank as OCOP products.

Of these, 15 products scored from 78.66 to 83.54 points and were recognized as 4-star products and 2 potential 5-star products: Kien Cuong Weasel Coffee of Kien Cuong Company Limited, Buon Ma Thuot City, scored 95.64 points and Dak Lak Premium Macadamia Nuts of Damaca Nguyen Phuong Joint Stock Company, Krong Nang District, scored 100/100 points.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Duong - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that for products that achieve 4 stars, the Provincial OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council will submit to the Provincial People's Committee for a Decision of recognition. For 2 potential 5-star products, the Council will advise the Provincial People's Committee to propose the Central Government to issue a Decision of recognition.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development requests the Office of Coordination for New Rural Development, consulting units, and entities to continue to complete the dossier and overcome the shortcomings that have been pointed out to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and issuance of a recognition decision. Localities focus on promoting communication work and supporting entities to actively participate in the program according to the OCOP cycle to ensure that products that are rated as stars must be of good quality and accepted by the market.
According to the Council's assessment, after more than 6 years of implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program associated with new rural development, Dak Lak currently has 237 OCOP products (an increase of 152 products compared to 2022), including: 223 3-star products and 14 4-star products. In 2024, the provincial OCOP Council will evaluate and classify 44 sets of 4-star potential product dossiers proposed by localities.
