(Dan Tri) - Thai Binh Provincial Police warn people to be vigilant against the online "jelly smashing" trick that shows signs of fraud and property appropriation.

According to Thai Binh Provincial Police, there is currently a sophisticated scam that preys on people's greed through the "smashing and opening of jelly" game online.

"Glazing" is understood as the process of separating and processing rough stones surrounded by a layer of sandstone (a mineral layer attached to the outside of the gemstone) to obtain finished gemstone crystals.

This is a game that is causing a fever on social networks, especially on Facebook and TikTok. Many people are willing to spend tens of millions of dong to "bet" on stones with the belief that when opened, they will get valuable gemstones, bringing high profits, in a method like "blind bag tearing".

A resident warned about the form of entering the jelly market and winning 450 million VND, but had to transfer more than 4 million VND in tax money to receive the winnings (Photo: Facebook).

The trick of these subjects is to create groups and social network accounts on Facebook and TikTok to promote common lumps of soil and rocks that are said to contain precious stones inside.

The subjects will create a fake situation that the buyer wins a valuable gemstone and will be bought at an attractive price, preying on the greed of the viewer.

When someone wants to participate in the "jelly smashing" game of chance, the subjects ask the participants to transfer money into an account designated by the subjects, from a few million to a few tens of millions, even hundreds of millions of dong.

Upon receiving the money, the subjects will proceed to break open the "jelly" stones that people have bought, but the result is that the stones are all worthless. As a result, the players lose all the money they have transferred to the subjects.

The Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of Thai Binh Province Police warned people about the online "jelly pouring" game that has signs of fraud and property appropriation. People should absolutely not trust and transfer money to these subjects.

At the same time, the police require that when encountering the above cases, people need to notify the nearest police agency for guidance and handling.
