The 2018 General Education Program has been implemented since the 2020-2021 school year, and has been implemented synchronously from grades 1 to 12. With an open educational orientation, focusing on learners, the new program allows localities to be proactive in developing educational plans suitable to the province's reality. In order to meet the requirements of the Program, Bac Kan province has prioritized investment resources in facilities, equipment and teaching staff. Up to now, teaching and learning activities have been put into order, teachers have effectively exploited textbooks, learning resources and applied information technology in teaching. Students ensure the goals of the Program, promoting good qualities and abilities in the learning process.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Dao Thi Mai Sen, the facilities at schools are increasingly spacious, clean and beautiful, meeting teaching requirements. The implementation of the 2018 General Education Program has been carried out seriously, basically achieving the set goals and plans, while helping to improve the overall quality of education, narrowing the gap between advantaged and disadvantaged areas.

Special attention has been paid to the training of teachers in preparation for the implementation of the Program. Many training courses have been organized to help teachers understand the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program, thereby innovating teaching methods. Teachers not only impart knowledge but also utilize information technology, images, and videos to enrich their lessons and stimulate students' interest in learning. Teacher Dinh Ngoc Quyen, Van Tung Primary School, Ngan Son District, emphasized the importance of self-study and self-improvement to meet the requirements of teaching according to the new program.

In the classroom, the interaction between teachers and students is increasingly lively. Students actively speak up and give their opinions under the guidance of teachers. The change in teaching methods helps students not only acquire knowledge but also practice creative thinking and problem-solving skills. Teacher Be Thi Lam, Don Phong Primary and Secondary School, Bach Thong District, commented that students have become more confident in sharing opinions and connecting with friends.

A notable highlight in the 2018 General Education Program is the implementation of STEM education at the primary level, bringing positive results. Bui Tam Dan, a student of class 5A3, Duc Xuan Primary School, shared her joy when participating in STEM lessons, collaborating with friends to create beautiful and useful products. These products are made under the guidance of teachers and the support of parents, helping students develop creative and practical skills. After STEM lessons, schools often organize festivals for students and teachers to summarize the learning process and draw experience for the next activities.

Not only innovating in content, the 2018 General Education Program also focuses on developing life skills for students, helping them adapt to modern society. Life skills education content is integrated into subjects and experiential activities such as time management, teamwork, communication, problem solving, stress management, and financial management. This is mandatory content to equip students with practical skills through community projects, field trips, and local cultural activities. According to Mr. Do Van Cam, a teacher at Tan Son Primary and Secondary School, Cho Moi District, life skills education is integrated into real-life situations such as respecting grandparents and parents, preventing thieves, maintaining personal hygiene, and protecting the environment.

Another significant change is the form of testing and student assessment. From the 2024-2025 school year, important exams will apply the assessment form according to the 2018 General Education Program, with adjustments to the exam structure, question types and scoring methods. The Bac Kan Education and Training sector has made careful preparations to ensure that students adapt to the new assessment method, contributing to improving the quality of education.

Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Dao Thi Mai Sen said that in the coming time, the Department will continue to advise and effectively implement Resolution No. 15-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee on developing education and training in Bac Kan province for the period 2021 - 2025; direct units to seriously implement the Education Program for the 2024 - 2025 school year and the 2025 - 2026 school year according to plan, especially focusing on and continuing to effectively implement the 2018 General Education Program, effectively applying and exploiting technologies to support teaching and learning with AI, actively implementing digital transformation, innovating teaching methods, etc.

Innovations from the implementation of the 2018 GPPT Program in Bac Kan have been bringing positive results, creating a solid foundation for the comprehensive development of students. With synchronous investment in facilities, teaching staff and teaching methods, the Bac Kan Education and Training sector is continuing to aim for the goal of improving quality, meeting the requirements of the new era./.
