Sharing with Teachers Program 2024: Expanding the list of honorees

The 2024 Sharing with Teachers program honors teachers who teach at remote schools, border areas, islands, reformatories, inclusive education centers, and teachers of students with disabilities.

In 2024, the "Sharing with Teachers" program will expand the recognition target to spread more examples of teachers.

This is the information given by the Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Kim Quy at the press conference introducing the Sharing with Teachers 2024 program held this morning, August 20.

Specifically, the program will honor outstanding teachers who have been teaching at remote schools in disadvantaged communes in Region III in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, period 2021-2025 according to Decision No. 861/QD-TTg dated June 4, 2021 of the Prime Minister; teachers working at schools in island districts and district-level administrative units with island communes; teachers teaching students with disabilities in specialized educational institutions, centers to support the development of inclusive education and social protection centers under the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Ministry of Education and Training; border guards participating in the work of eliminating illiteracy for people and children in border areas and military areas; teachers of reform schools (re-education camps) managed by the Ministry of Public Security.

The maximum number of commendations is 60 teachers.

The criteria for selecting teachers to be honored are good moral character and lifestyle; many contributions to the education of local students, creating remarkable changes in the quality and effectiveness of education; having a spirit of perseverance in overcoming difficulties, being dedicated to the education career, being loved by students, parents, and the community. Time participating in direct teaching work is from 3 years or more.

The Organizing Committee gives priority to teachers with many years of experience; young teachers who volunteer to teach in the localities; teachers with excellent achievements in their work; and teachers in disadvantaged areas.

According to the organizers, the Sharing with Teachers 2024 program is a long-term, comprehensive campaign from offline to online from August to November with the support of many social resources. To provide more practical support for teachers and call for the cooperation of society, this year's program will have the participation of many social resources including individuals, organizations and businesses.

Accordingly, prominent KOLs participating in the program include: Associate Professor Tran Thanh Nam, Miss H'Hen Nie, Miss Luong Thuy Linh. The ambassadors accompanying the program will participate in many meaningful activities to honor teachers and strongly spread beautiful stories about teachers to the whole society.

In particular, the highlight of the program in November is a series of meaningful activities to honor teachers, such as teachers meeting with leaders of the Party and State; meeting with leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training and leaders of the Vietnam Youth Union.

Outstanding teachers are teachers with outstanding achievements; many innovative initiatives in teaching and learning with high results; working in remote, border, island and difficult areas.

The 2024 Sharing with Teachers program award ceremony is expected to be held on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20, 2024, in Hanoi. The awarded teachers will receive Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union; Medals and Savings Books worth 10 million VND.

In addition, the program will have many accompanying activities to spread practical actions to show gratitude to teachers and respect for teachers in society, such as organizing the contest "Appreciating teachers - Sharing with teachers" on the social network TikTok; organizing the Journey of gratitude to teachers (visiting, giving gifts, and presenting projects to support teachers and students in remote, border, and island areas); and a writing contest about exemplary teachers selected to be honored in the program Sharing with teachers.

The Sharing with Teachers program has been organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training and Thien Long Group since 2015. The award ceremony is held on the occasion of Vietnam Teachers' Day (November 20), to encourage and express gratitude to teachers who have made many contributions to the education cause. Over the past 9 years, the program has honored 516 teachers of different categories./.
