In recent years, traditional Vietnamese songs have been gradually given a “new look” thanks to modern, creative arrangements. Songs that were once associated with the memories of previous generations have now become more vivid than ever when they are renewed with melodies and rhythms that are familiar to young audiences. Not only do these remakes arouse national pride, they also create a bridge between tradition and modernity, helping Vietnamese culture continue to resonate far and wide and spread its values in contemporary life.

This year, a number of performances celebrating Vietnamese Teachers' Day have become a phenomenon on social media, impressing with their skillful combination of traditional art and modern performance. Notably, there was an elaborate dragon dance performed by a male student of Tien Du 1 High School, Bac Ninh. With the background music of Mot Vong Viet Nam performed by singer Tung Duong, each skillful dance move recreated the image of a majestic dragon rising above the Vietnamese sky and land. After only a few days of posting, the clip attracted more than 11 million views and hundreds of thousands of shares, creating a wave of pride and intense emotions in the hearts of viewers.

Not stopping there, the performance of the 9A1 students of Hoan Son Secondary School, Bac Ninh also made a strong impression with a performance imbued with national identity. Combining famous songs such as Song of the Southern Land, Sacred Vietnam and A Round of Vietnam, along with traditional costumes and creative choreography, this performance was not only a meaningful tribute but also spread the spirit of patriotism to a large audience. The post about this performance received more than 100,000 likes and 5,000 shares, showing the strong appeal of school art when properly invested.

Another equally outstanding performance was the performance of Chiec Khan Pieu by students from Le Quy Don High School, Khanh Hoa. With over 36,000 likes, this performance not only revived the familiar song but was also highly appreciated by the audience thanks to the combination with a modern arrangement from the show Anh trai vu ngan cong gai. A comment under the post noted that without such creative arrangements, it would be more difficult to arouse enthusiasm from young people for traditional songs.

The phenomenon of “viral” performances on social media shows a positive trend: Traditional songs, when properly renewed, not only maintain their core values but also become more attractive to the younger generation. Typical examples are the remixes from the show Anh trai vu ngan cong gai, with songs such as Trong com, Me yeu con, Ao mua dong or Tro ve. The combination of folk and modern elements not only renews the melody but also breathes life into each song, making the audience feel more clearly the beauty of Vietnamese culture.

People's Artist Tu Long, one of the "talents" of the program, once emphasized : "Culture is the essence, the origin, the nation. The cultural story that we want to tell is to continue traditional values, so that today's young people can understand, approach and love the nation's ancient heritage more." From that deep understanding, traditional values have been recreated in an attractive way, contributing to bringing traditional music closer to modern life.

Performing arts performances on the school grounds are not only an artistic playground but also have profound educational significance. When songs about the homeland and country are renewed and expressed through creative performances, they not only convey a patriotic message but also evoke national pride, encourage the spirit of learning and dedication in the young generation.

From the resounding performances on social media, we can clearly see that traditional music always holds a special place in the hearts of Vietnamese people, regardless of time or generation gap. What is important is how we renew and bring them back in a modern context, to not only maintain but also spread the good values of the nation.

Looking to the future, reviving old songs is not only a way to preserve heritage but also a strong source of inspiration for young people. Through performances, students not only learn about history and culture but also understand more about their responsibility to the country. This is a valuable lesson, so that patriotism is not only in everyone's heart but also becomes a practical action in daily life.
