The National Assembly Chairman hopes that the State Audit of Vietnam will continue to make efforts and be an important bridge to contribute more to the common development of the public audit community in the region and the world.

On the afternoon of July 9, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received leaders of State Audit agencies of countries and international organizations on the occasion of attending the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the State Audit of Vietnam.
Speaking at the reception, the National Assembly Chairman said that the State Audit of Vietnam was established on July 11, 1994, as a specialized agency in the field of State financial inspection established by the National Assembly, operating independently and only following the law; performing the functions of auditing financial reports, compliance auditing, and performance auditing for all agencies and organizations managing and using the State budget, money and assets.
“Over 30 years of construction and development, the State Audit of Vietnam has continuously innovated and developed, becoming an important agency of the Party and State of Vietnam in inspecting and controlling the management and use of public finance and assets and preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity," the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.
According to the National Assembly Chairman, the leaders of the Vietnamese National Assembly always pay attention to and highly appreciate the role of the State Audit of Vietnam in improving the efficiency of financial and public asset management, detecting and handling violations, preventing loss of public assets; especially contributing to the transparency and reliability of the national financial system.
In the context of globalization and increasingly deep international integration, the requirement for transparency and efficiency in public financial management is becoming more important and urgent than ever.
The National Assembly Chairman was pleased to note that the State Audit of Vietnam has established and maintained close cooperative relationships with many State Audit agencies around the world and international organizations, and is an active member of regional and international auditing organizations, through forums, conferences, and workshops to share experiences and learn from each other.
The National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated the results of the international workshop organized by the State Audit of Vietnam on the morning of July 9 on "The role of supreme audit agencies in preventing and combating corruption, contributing to enhancing transparency, public integrity and good governance."
The contents presented and discussed at the Workshop helped raise awareness of the global nature of corruption, its impact on assets, public resources and especially on public trust in the activities of the State.

Welcoming the proposals, recommendations and solutions that the auditing agencies contributed at the Workshop, the National Assembly Chairman said that these are valuable documents for the State Audit of Vietnam to study and apply in the specific circumstances and conditions of Vietnam.
The National Assembly Chairman hopes that the State Audit of Vietnam will continue to make efforts, be proactive, and be an important bridge to contribute more to the common development of the public audit community in the region and the world; at the same time, he hopes that international agencies, organizations, and audits of countries in the region and the world will support the State Audit of Vietnam in fulfilling the tasks assigned by the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam as well as fulfilling its responsibilities to the international community.
The National Assembly Chairman also emphasized the need to continue to innovate and improve the effectiveness of audit activities, so that the State Audit in general can better meet the requirements in the new period, contributing to the sustainable development of the country.

Representative of the State Audit Delegation, international organizations, Auditor General, Auditor General of South Africa (AGSA) Tsakani Maluleke stated that the international State Audit community is a community with close relationships with each other, always supporting, exchanging, and learning from each other's experiences to ensure that all State Audit agencies develop together, promote transparency, and good governance.
Ms. Tsakani Maluleke emphasized that the State Audit of Vietnam has made many contributions to the community of supreme audit institutions of countries around the world and the activities of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI); said that the State Audit of Vietnam plays an important role in the Southeast Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASEANSAI) and the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) as the Chair of ASOSAI for the 2018-2021 term.
Ms. Tsakani Maluleke affirmed that the support of agencies, including those of the National Assembly, is very important, helping State Audit agencies have resources to carry out their challenging and difficult work./.
