Theme of National Tourism Year 2025: Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunities

Attending the program were Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc, Chairman of the Coordination Council for the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024; leaders representing central departments, ministries and branches; leaders of centrally-run provinces and cities, along with a large number of people and tourists.

The National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024 has the theme "Glory of Dien Bien Phu - Endless Experiences" with 169 programs and events jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, ministries, branches, central agencies, Dien Bien province and localities nationwide, attracting millions of tourists to Dien Bien. The successful organization of the National Tourism Year 2024 is the most practical activity to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory; an opportunity to promote the image, traditional cultural values, and uniqueness of the ethnic groups of Dien Bien - Northwest province to domestic and international friends.

According to Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee Tran Quoc Cuong, the activities of the National Tourism Year, associated with the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, have created a strong attraction. This is the first time that Dien Bien has welcomed 1 million 850 thousand tourists, including 11,500 international tourists; total revenue from tourism activities reached more than 3,321 billion VND, contributing significantly to promoting economic, cultural and social development, ensuring national defense and security, expanding foreign relations, bringing the GRDP growth of Dien Bien province to over 10% in 2024...

On behalf of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc commended, acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of the Steering Committee, the Organizing Committee, leaders of many ministries and branches, especially the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Dien Bien province for their efforts and efforts to achieve. The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that Dien Bien province actively implement synchronous solutions, improve infrastructure, preserve, cultivate and promote the unique cultural values ​​of Dien Bien. Focus on developing eco-tourism, historical-cultural tourism, community tourism; developing human resources, promoting market development, respecting and protecting the natural landscape and environment so that Dien Bien tourism can develop sustainably, becoming a destination of "Heroic history, majestic nature, unique culture, friendly people".

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc congratulated Thua Thien - Hue province as the host of the National Tourism Year 2025 with the theme "Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunities". At the same time, he believed that, with the new position - "new opportunities" of a centrally-run city from January 1, 2025, Hue city will promote its leading role, leading tourism development cooperation activities, successfully organizing the National Tourism Year 2025. Thereby contributing to promoting localities and destinations across the country to effectively implement action plans to implement Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP of the Government on accelerating recovery, developing tourism effectively and sustainably; promoting development cooperation, cultural exchange, international integration, building friendship and maintaining peace; national development and the direction of the Prime Minister in Directive No. 08/CT-TTg dated February 23, 2024 on comprehensive, fast and sustainable tourism development with the motto "Unique products - Professional services - Convenient and simple procedures - Reasonable prices - Clean and beautiful environment - Safe, civilized and friendly destinations" to spread Vietnamese tourism to a new level.

According to Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue Province Nguyen Thanh Binh, with the theme "Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunities", the activities and events focus on 4 main program groups: Spring Festival with the theme "Spring of the Ancient Capital"; Summer Festival with the theme "Shining Imperial City"; Autumn Festival with the theme "Hue in Autumn" and Winter Festival with the theme "Winter of Hue". It is expected that the opening program of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 will take place on March 25, 2025 and the closing program of the Tourism Year will take place at the end of December 2025. Throughout the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 Program, there will be nearly 160 national and provincial-level events. In particular, the highlight is the opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year combined with the opening of the Hue Festival and the fireworks display to celebrate the 50th Liberation Day of Thua Thien Hue, welcoming Hue to become a centrally-run city...

The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province affirmed that the organization of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 is of great significance in the process of building Hue city to develop sustainably on the basis of preserving and promoting the values ​​of the ancient capital's heritage and Hue's cultural identity, with its cultural, heritage, ecological, landscape, environmentally friendly and smart characteristics. This is also a typical cultural - tourism event, of national and international scale for localities across the country to introduce and promote the beauty of traditional cultural values, resources and unique tourism products of the people and country of Vietnam; contributing to tourism development, creating momentum for socio-economic development for Thua Thien Hue province, localities across the country, in 2025 and the following years...

At the Closing Ceremony, there was a special art program with the theme: Radiant Vietnam. The program was staged with high artistic quality, a symphony introducing the beauty of the land and people of Vietnam, Dien Bien. The program had the participation of many famous domestic artists and ended with a brilliant fireworks display.
