However, along with opportunities come significant challenges, including information security - a key factor in the sustainability of digital transformation. Cybersecurity incidents, from organized attacks to gaps in information management, are posing serious risks not only to businesses and individuals, but also to government agencies and even national security.

Therefore, building effective solutions to protect information and data is not only an urgent task but also a common responsibility of the whole society.

Mr. Truong Duc Luong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Cyber Security Joint Stock Company, said that cyber attacks always exist and are increasing with the development of information technology applications and online trends.

In the third quarter of 2024, more than 5 million threats were detected (Kaspersky), 18.7% of Vietnamese Internet users were the target of cyber attacks (Kaspersky).

Therefore, to ensure information security for organizations, businesses need to equip themselves with: firewalls, endpoints; set up a monitoring center and regularly evaluate security.

Sharing the same view, Associate Professor, Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh, Director of the Institute of Business Research, University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City, said that in the future, global cybersecurity will continue to face increasingly greater challenges, especially when 5G and IoT technology are widely deployed, opening up new security vulnerabilities.

To cope, countries need to increase investment in advanced security technology, raise public awareness and promote international cooperation to build a safe and sustainable cyberspace.

Analyzing in depth the provisions of Vietnamese law, Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Hong, Head of the Criminal Law Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, said that the provisions on personal data protection are stated in Decree 13/2023/ND-CP dated April 17, 2023 of the Government on personal data protection and a number of other legal documents, but there are still lacks provisions on the right to restore personal data, rights and obligations of third parties...

Therefore, it is urgent to develop and promulgate the "Law on Personal Data Protection" to create a legal framework to ensure the protection of personal information and thoroughly handle violations.
