(CLO) The People's Committee of Da Lat City (Lam Dong) has just organized a consultation seminar on the implementation plan of commitments when joining the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of music, period 2025 - 2027.
The program had the participation of Mr. Jonathan Wallace Baker - Head of UNESCO Representative Office in Vietnam, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong - Director of Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts and Mr. Dang Quang Tu - Chairman of Da Lat City People's Committee.

The seminar aims to maintain and promote the title of "Creative City of Music" recognized by UNESCO, and at the same time propose scientific and practical solutions to implement the committed initiatives.
Delegates focused on discussing professional advice and development orientation, as well as connecting and building partnerships with consulting units and investors to mobilize capital for local cultural industry development.
Speaking at the seminar, Chairman of Da Lat City People's Committee, Mr. Dang Quang Tu, emphasized that he would listen to and accept initiatives and orientations suitable to local characteristics. In particular, enthusiastic businesses can propose a public-private partnership model to develop culture and tourism, contributing to maintaining the title of Da Lat - UNESCO's Creative City of Music.
Mr. Jonathan Wallace Baker pledged that UNESCO will continue to support Da Lat in fulfilling its commitments as a member of the Creative Cities Network.
He affirmed his desire to promote cooperation, technical expertise consultation and connect Da Lat with other creative cities around the world to exchange experiences, good practices and promote sustainable development.

Previously, on October 31, 2023, Da Lat City was officially recognized as a member of the UNESCO Global Creative Cities Network in the field of music.
This is an important step to help Da Lat affirm its position, while promoting the city's image as a creative tourism destination, connecting Vietnamese music with the international music scene, especially Southeast Asia.
