Initial information, at around 7:30 p.m. on October 18, a fire broke out at a 7-story apartment building for rent on Lam Hoanh Street (Phuoc My Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang City).
At that time, people discovered fire and smoke rising from the first floor of the building, so they shouted to put out the fire. However, because the fire was so big, people could not put it out.
At this time, many people on the upper floors could not escape and were trapped inside the building. They ran to the windows to signal for help, some people climbed onto the roof of the neighboring building to wait for rescue by the authorities.
Immediately upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of Da Nang City mobilized vehicles and forces from many units to participate in fire fighting and rescue.
Police divided into teams to put out the fire, and used a 50m high ladder truck to reach and rescue people trapped on the upper floors.
The fire has now been controlled and the trapped people have been safely rescued.
