Fierce forest fire at Nghiem mountain, nearly 500 people trying to put out the fire

According to the Military Command of Tuyen Quang province, at around 12:30 on March 21, a forest fire broke out in Nghiem mountain area, Hoang Khai commune (Yen Son). Due to dry weather and strong winds, the fire spread quickly, making it difficult for rescue and fire extinguishing efforts.

Upon receiving the news, nearly 500 people including military, police, militia, self-defense forces and local people urgently deployed rescue measures.

Due to the rugged mountainous terrain, difficult access, dry weather, strong winds, and the distance from the foot of the mountain to the fire site of more than 3km, fire trucks could not reach the scene. Many fire-blocking routes were urgently built to prevent the fire from spreading.

By about 4:00 p.m. the same day, the fire was basically under control.

Authorities continue to deploy measures to protect people's lives and property, while investigating the cause of the fire.
