On July 2, news from the Investigation Police Agency of An Phu District Police (An Giang) said that the unit is temporarily detaining Pham Van Hien (53 years old, residing in Chau Phu A Ward, Chau Doc City) to investigate the act of property theft.

Previously, at around 9:00 p.m. on June 29, Mr. VTN (33 years old, residing in An Phu Town, An Phu District) went to An Phu Town Police to report that his motorbike with license plate 67G1 - 244.41 had been stolen.
Upon receiving the report, Ann Phu Town Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Team of An Phu District Police to verify and investigate the theft. Using professional measures, on the morning of July 1, An Phu District Police identified Hien as a suspect and brought him to the headquarters for clarification.
An Phu District Police recovered the stolen motorbike and returned it to the victim.
Initially, Hien confessed that after stealing Mr. N's motorbike, Hien drove to Chau Phong commune, Tan Chau town to sell it for 7 million VND. Based on Hien's statement, the criminal police of An Phu district recovered the motorbike as evidence and returned it to the victim.
According to the police, Hien has a previous conviction for murder and robbery and was sentenced to 22 years in prison. After completing his sentence (in September 2022), Hien returned to his hometown and then committed the above-mentioned theft crime again.
