Today, the Party, State and people of all Lao ethnic groups celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (March 22, 1955 - March 22, 2025).

This is a major historical milestone marking the 70-year journey of arduous revolutionary struggle, challenges and glorious victories, affirming the noble mission of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party in leading the country and people of Laos to prosperous development and increasingly deeper regional and international integration.

In 1930, the birth of the Indochinese Communist Party, the predecessor of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, marked a historic turning point in the struggle for independence of the three Indochinese countries (Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia). Inheriting the glorious career of the Indochinese Communist Party and responding to the new tasks of the revolution, the Lao People's Revolutionary Party was established on March 22, 1955, marking a brilliant milestone in the history of Laos, bringing the revolutionary struggle of the Lao people into a new period with new methods and quality, meeting the demands of reality.

Since its inception, through countless difficulties and challenges, the Lao People's Revolutionary Party has led the people to fight for independence, national liberation, and opened the path for development for the country.

Throughout the revolutionary journey, with correct and creative political and military lines, mobilizing the strength of the entire people and army, combining with the strength of the three-nation fighting alliance of Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and the strength of the times, the Lao People's Revolutionary Party led the revolution from one victory to another, achieving a resounding victory on December 2, 1975, completely liberating the country from the yoke of imperialism and colonialism. This victory marked the establishment of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, bringing the nation into a new era, an era of independence and freedom.

The Lao People's Revolutionary Party became the ruling party, the core of the political system and led the people into a new stage, the stage of defending and building the country, implementing the renovation process step by step successfully, perfecting the people's democratic regime to advance towards the goal of socialism. Under the wise leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, with a passionate patriotism and a steadfast revolutionary tradition, the Lao people have achieved great victories of historical significance in the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.

In nearly 40 years of implementing the renovation policy since 1986, Laos has achieved great, comprehensive, and historically significant achievements, with political stability, guaranteed social order and security, economic growth, people's lives constantly improved, national defense and security maintained, and foreign relations expanded.

Vietnam and Laos are two close neighboring countries, two closely-knit peoples. The tradition of close attachment, pure loyalty and great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples, established by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane, has been diligently cultivated by the two Parties and peoples, and is increasingly developing deeply, comprehensively and practically.

This friendship is an invaluable asset, a source of pride for the two Parties, two States and peoples of Vietnam and Laos, a factor ensuring the victory of each country's revolution, and needs to be preserved and nurtured by successive generations.
