Prime Minister surveys Son Trieu tunnel
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected Son Trieu tunnel and listened to reports on two North-South expressway component projects, Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon and Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh, part of the North-South expressway project.
Workers were delighted to receive a visit from the Prime Minister.
The two component projects, which pass through the two provinces of Binh Dinh and Phu Yen, have a total length of 134km, of which more than 118km in Binh Dinh alone. To date, site clearance work has been completed; material issues have been resolved and sufficient for contractors. The progress of the two projects has reached over 70% of output, with 110km expected to be completed by September 2, 2025, and the remaining 20km one month later.

Welcoming and praising the efforts of the investor, locality, and contractors, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested to continue promoting the spirit of working in 3 shifts, "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, not losing to storms and winds", to ensure the set progress, while improving the quality, ensuring the technical, aesthetic, safety, and environmental sanitation of the project. From there, contributing to the opening of the entire North-South expressway from Cao Bang through Lang Son to Ca Mau in 2025, practically celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, national reunification, 80th anniversary of the founding of the country, 95th anniversary of the founding of the Party, 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, welcoming Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.

The Prime Minister requested project management boards and construction contractors to continue to pay attention and find solutions to increase income and improve the material and spiritual life of workers. Main contractors need to cooperate and create conditions for subcontractors and local businesses to grow, mature and participate in the construction of future projects.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the leaders of Binh Dinh province to continue to pay attention to the lives of people who have given up their land to implement the national key transport project, ensuring that life in the new place is better than the old place. Along with that, the province should study and deploy reasonable connecting intersections to maximize the efficiency of the expressway, exploit new development space, calculate and make the most effective use of land funds, form new industrial, service and tourism zones, etc.
