At the Tan Chanh Communal House Historical and Cultural Relic and Nguyen Khac Tuan Tomb, Dinh Hamlet, Tan Chanh Commune, Can Duoc District, on March 5, 2025, which is the 6th day of the 2nd lunar month of the year At Ty, the People's Committee of Can Duoc District held a memorial incense offering ceremony to commemorate the 202nd death anniversary of Xuan Quang Marquis Nguyen Khac Tuan.
Xuan Quang Marquis Nguyen Khac Tuan was a mandarin of the Nguyen Dynasty. He was born in 1767, in Tan Chanh commune, Can Duoc district; he was a military officer under the reign of King Gia Long and Minh Mang, had many contributions to the country, many times presented the king's edict to successfully defeat the enemy, was praised by the court, when he passed away, he was respected by the people as a god. Tan Chanh Communal House, where the local God Hoang and Xuan Quang Marquis Nguyen Khac Tuan are worshiped, still preserves many valuable artifacts, including the royal decree of King Minh Mang in the 4th year (1823) awarding Xuan Quang Marquis Nguyen Khac Tuan, who had contributed to the court at that time, and 176 pages of ancient documents on content related to the cultural history of Tan Chanh land and Can Duoc district during the process of development.
Nguyen Khac Tuan Tomb was built with components and construction materials of laterite and mortar, a typical architectural work of the ancient tomb of Nguyen Dynasty mandarins in the early 19th century, still remaining in Long An. In recent years, Tan Chanh Communal House and Nguyen Khac Tuan Tomb have been restored and embellished by the District People's Committee, demonstrating the respect and inheritance of today's generation for the historical and cultural traditions created by their ancestors. With historical and cultural values, Tan Chanh Communal House and Nguyen Khac Tuan Tomb were ranked as provincial-level historical and cultural relics in 2012.
Currently, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is preparing a dossier for the Ministry of Culture to rank the relic as a national relic as well as to propose recognizing the Tan Chanh Communal House Festival and Nguyen Khac Tuan Tomb as national intangible cultural heritage. In order to encourage and contribute to preserving the traditional cultural values of the nation, at the ceremony, the People's Committee of Can Duoc district presented certificates of merit and flowers to 04 individuals who have contributed to and embellished the provincial historical - cultural relics of Tan Chanh Communal House and Nguyen Khac Tuan Tomb.
