The black, umbrella-shaped rock is 3.7m high and divided into three parts. The top part of the umbrella is 70-80cm high and 5.2m in diameter, providing shade for many people from the rain and sun.
The rock is moss green with countless unique lines and patterns. The body (the middle part) is 2.5m in diameter and consists of dark brown stone slabs stacked on top of each other to create strange shapes. The base (the underground part) is about 55cm high, 5.4m in diameter and is surrounded by the roots of two ancient Acacia trees.
The southern part of the rock has a flat rectangular stone slab measuring 40-55cm 2 . This stone slab is a place that reflects the spiritual and cultural life of the local people, where people often burn incense, pray and place offerings.
Da O Mountain is associated with the legend of the Dao Khau people, about a fairy who came down to earth to travel and forgot his umbrella, over time the umbrella turned into stone.
Once upon a time, there was a fairy who came down to earth to travel. From the sky he flew down to Sang Ta Ngai mountain, the highest mountain in the Sin Ho plateau.
