New pensions and benefits from July will increase by 15% compared to June 2024. Thus, the pension and benefits for July = Monthly pension for June x 1.15.
According to the Decree adjusting pensions, social insurance benefits and monthly benefits, for those receiving benefits before January 1, 1995, after a 15% adjustment, if the benefit level is lower than 3.5 million VND/month, it will be adjusted to increase.
Accordingly, increase by 300,000 VND/person/month for those with benefits below 3.2 million VND/person/month; increase by 3.5 million VND/person/month for those with benefits from 3.2 million VND/person/month to under 3.5 million VND/person/month.
According to statistics from Vietnam Social Security, more than 3.3 million people will have their pensions and monthly allowances adjusted up.
It is expected that the additional budget to pay pensions and monthly social insurance benefits in the last 6 months of 2024 from the State budget will be about 3,700 billion VND and from the Social Insurance Fund will be more than 12,500 billion VND. The total estimated budget to increase pensions, social insurance benefits and monthly benefits in the last 6 months of 2024 is more than 16,200 billion VND.
Thus, from 1995 to now, our country has adjusted pensions 24 times. After many adjustments, the current pension level of retirees has increased from 21 to 26 times compared to the pension level in 1995.
The person with the highest pension is Mr. PPNT in Ho Chi Minh City, with the amount received from July being about 161 million VND/month, an increase of about 21 million VND compared to the amount received in June.
The lowest monthly pension amount for beneficiaries is currently 2.34 million VND/person/month (because the basic salary from July is 2.34 million VND), except for those who are part-time workers in communes, wards and towns.
