According to information from the Vietnam Musicians Association, on August 25, the special art program Green Sword Lake Music Waves to celebrate Vietnam Music Day 2023 will take place at the Sword Lake Theater (Hang Bai, Hanoi).
The program has the participation of Associate Professor, Doctor, musician Do Hong Quan, People's Artist Pham Ngoc Khoi, Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Huy Phuong, People's Artist Ta Minh Tam, People's Artist Quoc Hung, singers Anh Tho, Trong Tan, Dieu Thao, cellist Ha Mien... and the National Orchestra of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, Big Band Symphony Orchestra - Vietnam Musicians Association.

Musician, People's Artist Pham Ngoc Khoi - Vice President of Vietnam Musicians Association - Vice President of Vietnam Musicians Association said: "The program Green Sword Lake Music Waves is divided into 3 parts with important highlights. Part 1 is titled: " Thang Long Waves" honoring works written for traditional musical instruments and songs with folk melodies - showing the inheritance of tradition, reflecting a part of the picture of Vietnamese music in the past, forming the foundation for modern Vietnamese music.
Part 2, titled " Tell the Red River Story", includes works written in the classical chamber music style, showing the integration and development of music in selectively absorbing the quintessence of world music, to build an advanced Vietnamese music industry, imbued with national identity. Part 3, titled " Evergreen Melodies" , includes works that go through the years, associated with many events and history of the country like a chronicle in sound, expressing love for the homeland, the country, love between people and beautiful nature - Celebrating Vietnam Music Day.
Along with the art performance program in Hanoi, this year's Vietnam Music Day was organized by the Vietnam Musicians Association in many localities across the country such as: Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc, Lang Son, Ha Tinh, Da Nang, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Tien Giang, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Dinh, Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Phu Yen, Dong Thap, Ca Mau, Dak Lak...
Previously, on September 3, 2010, the Vietnam Musicians Association solemnly organized the first Vietnam Music Day in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and many provinces and cities across the country. The symbol of Vietnam Music Day is the image of Uncle Ho conducting the orchestra, choir and the people of the capital singing the song "Solidarity", celebrating the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and the 3rd Party Congress at the Botanical Garden (Hanoi) on September 3, 1960.
On September 26, 2014, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1722/QD-TTg, taking September 3 every year as Vietnam Music Day .
Over the years , Vietnam Music Day has been organized with many special art programs, performances and exchanges taking place across the country, contributing to honoring the contributions of musicians and artists, promoting the traditional values of Vietnamese music.
