Speaking at the opening ceremony, Major General, musician Duc Trinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association, said that of the 12 intangible cultural heritages of humanity of Vietnam honored by UNESCO, 9 heritages belong to music, which is the pride of the whole nation and especially of those working in the country's music industry. Music is an invisible thread connecting love between people, between people in the world, bringing people closer together.
Vice President Nguyen Thi Anh Xuan and former Vice President Truong My Hoa congratulated the artists performing in the program celebrating Vietnam Music Day.

This year's special art program Blue Sword Lake Music Waves features many famous artists along with the National Orchestra - Vietnam National Academy of Music, Big Band Symphony Orchestra - Vietnam Musicians Association.

“Blue Sword Lake Music Waves” is divided into 3 parts. Part 1 with the theme “Thang Long Music Waves” honors works written for traditional musical instruments and songs with folk melodies, such as: “Peaceful Country”, “Tieng of the Monochord”, “A Glimpse of West Lake”…

The art program “Blue Sword Lake Music Waves” has attracted many generations of musicians in many genres such as folk music, chamber music, and contemporary music to attend. Before and after the performance, at the lobby of the Sword Lake Theater at 40 Hang Bai, artists from many periods met, exchanged, and shared their feelings about the current Vietnamese music scene.
The program ended with many emotions in the hearts of the audience. With elaborate staging and the participation of famous artists, this is truly a worthy program to celebrate Vietnam Music Day 2023.
The original idea of Vietnam Music Day originated from the historical event of Uncle Ho conducting the orchestra, choir and the people of the capital to sing the song "Solidarity" to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and the 3rd Party Congress at the Botanical Garden on September 3, 1960.
In 2014, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung agreed to make September 3 every year "Vietnam Music Day".
