Yesterday afternoon (November 20), the Farmers' Association of Ca Mau province held a conference to summarize Resolution No. 29-NQ/HNDTW dated July 4, 2016 of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association (term VI) on improving the quality of the movement of farmers competing in production and good business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty and to review 5 years of implementing Resolutions 04, 05, 06/NQ-TW term VII of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association on building a clean and strong Vietnam Farmers' Association in the period 2019-2024 (referred to as 3 resolutions).

Mr. Huynh Quoc Hung - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Ca Mau province said that, implementing Resolution 29, up to now, the whole province has established 10 Billionaire Farmers' Clubs and 1 excellent production and business club, many outstanding farmers have been commended.
In addition, implementing the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty", every year more than 114,000 farming households register and over 70,000 households achieve the title of good farmers in production and business at all levels.

Since then, the association at all levels has helped 2,478 poor and near-poor households escape poverty. Thereby, contributing to significantly reducing the rate of poor and near-poor households.
Specifically, in 2017, the poverty rate was 5.96%, the near-poor rate was 3.52%; to date, the poverty rate in the whole province has decreased to 1.6%, the near-poor rate is 1.56%. Every year, 100% of district and city associations and 97% of grassroots associations are assessed as having fulfilled their tasks well or better.

The conference said that after 5 years of implementing Resolution 04, 05, 06-NQ/HNDTW of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union on building a clean and strong Vietnam Farmers' Union in the period of 2019-2024, all levels in the province have been consolidated and improved, the staff of the union at all levels basically ensures quantity and quality...
On this occasion, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province awarded certificates of merit to 4 farmers with effective production and business models; the Executive Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association awarded certificates of merit to 20 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing Resolution No. 29-NQ/HNDTW, term VI and implementing Resolutions 04, 05, 06-NQ/HNDTW on building a clean and strong Vietnam Farmers' Association in the period 2019-2024.
