Hanoi earns nearly 30 trillion VND from tourists in the first quarter of the year

According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the capital welcomed about 7.3 million visitors in the first quarter, with revenue from tourists estimated at VND29,930 billion, up 11.3% over the same period in 2024.

Today (March 25), the Hanoi Department of Tourism said that the number of visitors to the capital continued to increase in March. Domestic tourists are estimated at 1.91 million, up 6.2% over the same period in 2024. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at VND 10,960 billion, up 8.1% over 2024.

In the first quarter of 2025, Hanoi welcomed about 7.3 million visitors, an increase of 8.7% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international tourists are estimated at 1.85 million, an increase of 17.4% over the same period in 2024; domestic tourists are estimated at 5.45 million, an increase of 6% over the same period in 2024. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at VND 29,930 billion, an increase of 11.3% over the same period in 2024.

Regarding the number of tourist accommodation establishments, Hanoi currently has 3,761 accommodation establishments with 71,256 rooms; of which there are 85 hotels and apartment buildings within the period of being ranked from 1 to 5 stars with a total of 11,965 rooms. Up to now, in Hanoi, there are 97 service establishments recognized as meeting standards for serving tourists.

In March, the average room occupancy rate of hotels was estimated at 62.25%, down 2.1% year-on-year. The average room occupancy rate of accommodation establishments in the first quarter was estimated at 61.6%, down 0.5% year-on-year.

Since the beginning of the year, Hanoi has organized many events, notably the program "Hanoi Tourism Welcomes 2025 - Get on Hanoi 2025"; coordinating with the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations to organize the 2025 Friendship Spring Tour program in Me Linh district with the participation of more than 400 domestic and international delegates.

Ms. Dang Huong Giang - Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism said that the Department of Tourism will develop a plan to organize the opening and launch of new tourism products in the coming time such as experiential tourism products associated with heritage values - relics at Ha Mo point, Dan Phuong district; the tourism route "Nam Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Road" in Thanh Tri, Thuong Tin, Phu Xuyen districts; community tourism model associated with the actual experience of traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in An Phu commune, My Duc district; rural agricultural tourism model in Tich Giang commune, Phuc Tho district.

Along with that, the Hanoi Department of Tourism continues to organize a series of attractive and unique events and programs to promote tourism in the capital such as: Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2025, Hanoi Tourism Festival 2025. In addition, the unit will promote the application of digital address platforms in tourism activities; continue to digitize the digital information system on tourist areas, tourist attractions, tourism service establishments, Hanoi tourism market; build a system of smart and convenient software to support management, serve tourists to look up information, and promote Hanoi tourism.
