Minister of Defense, Chairman of the National Assembly with the highest number of votes of confidence

According to the results of the vote of confidence at the 6th session of the 15th National Assembly, Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue were the two people with the highest number of votes of confidence. The person with the lowest number of votes of confidence was Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat.
On the afternoon of October 25, the National Assembly announced the results of the vote of confidence for 44 people holding positions elected and approved by the National Assembly at the 6th session of the 15th National Assembly. The resolution confirming the results of the vote of confidence was also passed by the National Assembly with a majority of votes in favor. According to the results of the vote of confidence just announced, Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue were the two people with the highest number of votes of confidence. Accordingly, Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang had 448/481 delegates rating him as highly confident. Meanwhile, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue had 437/480 delegates rating him as highly confident.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Party and State leaders held secret ballots to conduct a vote of confidence for 44 people holding positions elected and approved by the National Assembly on the morning of October 25.

The people with the highest number of confidence votes in the following positions are: Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong with 426/478 votes; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man with 414/481 votes; Vice President Tran Thi Anh Xuan with 410/481 votes. The person with the lowest number of confidence votes is Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat with 187/280 votes. Next are Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung with 219/481 votes; Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien with 229/479 votes; Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang with 237/479 votes; Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan with 239/479 votes. Regarding the low number of confidence votes, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son is the leader in the low number of confidence votes with 72/479 votes. The person right after that is Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat with 71/480 votes.

If counting the National Assembly alone, among the 17 people who were voted on this time, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has the highest number of confidence votes. This is the fourth time the National Assembly has conducted a vote of confidence. The first time was in 2013, when the National Assembly voted on 47 people. In 2014, the National Assembly voted on 50 people for the second time. In 2018, the National Assembly voted on 48 people . The vote of confidence is conducted with 3 levels of votes: high confidence, confidence and low confidence. According to the provisions of Resolution 96 of the National Assembly on the vote of confidence, which was newly issued in the middle of this year, the result of seeing one's level of confidence is to continue to strive, practice, improve the quality and efficiency of work. This is also the basis for competent agencies and organizations to consider planning, training, fostering, arranging and using cadres. Regarding the consequences of the vote of confidence, in the case that the person being voted on has more than half to less than 2/3 of the total votes rating "low confidence", he/she can resign; In case the person does not resign, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly shall submit to the National Assembly a vote of confidence at that session or the nearest session. In case the person subject to the vote of confidence receives a "low confidence" rating of 2/3 or more of the total votes, the agency or person with the authority to recommend that person for the National Assembly to elect or approve shall be responsible for submitting to the National Assembly for dismissal or approval of the proposal for dismissal at that session or the nearest session.
