(NLDO) - Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang and leaders of Ho Chi Minh City attended the conference to deploy the work of Ho Chi Minh City Police in 2025.
On the morning of January 5, Ho Chi Minh City Police held a conference to summarize the work in 2024 and deploy the Resolution and Work Program for 2025.
Attending and directing the Conference were General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security; Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
Minister of Public Security and leaders of Ho Chi Minh City exchanged before the opening of the conference.
Also attending the conference were Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai; Major General Dang Hong Duc, Deputy Minister of Public Security, and representatives of agencies, departments and branches.
Lieutenant General Le Hong Nam - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police Department, chaired the Conference.

The conference aims to evaluate the situation and results of all aspects of Public Security work in 2024; summarize the emulation movement "For National Security" in 2024, commend collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the past year and launch the emulation movement "For National Security" in 2025 in the Ho Chi Minh City Public Security force.
Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen presented the noble award of the Party and State to the collective of the Ho Chi Minh City Police.
According to statistics from Ho Chi Minh City Police, the fight against crime has had strong changes from awareness to action, creating a continuous atmosphere of attacking crime, contributing to curbing and reducing crime and law violations in all fields.
Leaders of Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy and functional agencies attended the conference.
Crimes against social order were significantly reduced compared to the same period (down 18.16%); street crimes were strongly fought and suppressed (robbery cases decreased by 11.11%, with 92.05% of cases discovered; robbery cases decreased by 26.92%, with 91.61% of cases discovered).
Regarding economic, corruption and environmental crimes, the police have discovered and dismantled many large networks and organizations. Of these, 1,357 cases and 1,467 subjects were discovered and fought against corruption, economic and smuggling crimes, and 1,121 cases and 1,138 subjects were found violating environmental and food safety crimes.
Crime and drug-related law violations have been positively transformed with the motto of "reducing demand and controlling supply". The police discovered 3,162 cases with 8,163 subjects, an increase of 1,085 cases, equivalent to 52.24%, and seized more than 1.14 tons of various drugs.
