Regarding the issue of contacting and exchanging with Vu Cat Tuong's crew, Lam Bao Ngoc confirmed that she had contacted her old management company to connect.

According to the singer, on the morning of October 10, a representative of her former management company confirmed (over the phone) that they had contacted a representative of Vu Cat Tuong's crew. However, Bao Ngoc was not given detailed information about the content of that conversation, only being told that "there was an exchange".

"However, after reconfirming with relevant parties, Ngoc made a mistake in not carefully checking the information announced by the company about contacting Vu Cat Tuong," she expressed.

Lam Bao Ngoc also explained that because she did not know that Vu Cat Tuong had stopped using her old phone number, she continued to try to communicate via text messages. Therefore, when she did not receive a response, she shared this so that the audience could understand and clarify the issues that were causing discussion.

"Lam Bao Ngoc did not attack, defame, or slander Vu Cat Tuong and her team. During the entire process of exchanging via email and sharing publicly, Ngoc and her team were very receptive with the desire to discuss and cooperate to clarify, and at the same time sent an apology," the female singer said.

Lam Bao Ngoc admitted her own shortcomings. She said she will stop performing the song "If" on all stages and events...

In addition, the singer and his crew will continue to work with the Vietnam Center for Music Copyright Protection (VCPMC) to review programs that are lacking in terms of performing copyright obligations in order to contact them for proper implementation, ensuring the legal rights of Vu Cat Tuong and the company.

In case it is impossible to contact or collect from the organizing units, the female singer requests permission to proactively pay all remaining expenses.

After the scandal, Lam Bao Ngoc said she wanted to close the matter and always wanted to work with dedication and devotion.

Panorama of Lam Bao Ngoc and Vu Cat Tuong's noisy situation

Previously, on October 7, a post believed to be from Vu Cat Tuong's crew spoke up about this musician's song being used widely without permission.

The post did not name anyone, but many viewers mentioned Lam Bao Ngoc and assumed that she was the person mentioned in the post.

On October 8, on her personal page, Lam Bao Ngoc said that there was an article that specifically named and attached her image to the song "If". Therefore, she decided to speak up to clarify the matter to the public.

She confirmed that this song was authorized by singer and musician Vu Cat Tuong to VCPMC.

Therefore, she and the organizing units are always aware of and fully carry out their responsibilities regarding copyright, asking for permission and paying fees at VCPMC to perform this song.

"Specifically, in the solo show Ngoc Mini Concert taking place in December 2023, Ngoc and the crew requested copyright to perform a list of 16 songs, including the song "If".

The list of music and receipts for copyright fees were attached by Lam Bao Ngoc's team to the performance application submitted to the relevant authorities to obtain a performance permit.

Regarding posting the cover clip on his personal YouTube channel, Lam Bao Ngoc also paid royalties for copyright use to VCPMC and fully credited in the detailed content section," Lam Bao Ngoc explained.

Regarding the above incident, she directly contacted Vu Cat Tuong to resolve the issue but has not received any response. The female singer also apologized to Vu Cat Tuong as well as the audience who were following the incident for causing everyone to be upset.

Vu Cat Tuong's side said that Lam Bao Ngoc performed the song "If" at some events and music nights in tea rooms, but did not ask for permission.

However, on the evening of October 10, Vu Cat Tuong posted a response to Lam Bao Ngoc's previous announcement.

Regarding Lam Bao Ngoc singing "If" many times, the singer's representative collected and checked the data provided by VCPMC. After the inspection, Vu Cat Tuong's team confirmed that "If" was licensed to be released online on Lam Bao Ngoc's channel from January 16 to January 15, 2026 and licensed to perform at Ngoc's mini concert in December 2023.

However, from May 2019 to present, at many mini-shows, tea rooms with ticket sales, and commercial music venues, Lam Bao Ngoc performed Vu Cat Tuong's works without any contract or performance rights confirmation document signed by VCPMC.

The musician's side said there was a list of performances by Lam Bao Ngoc performing many works by Vu Cat Tuong in the past 5 years without permission and without a license.

To optimize the protection and exploitation of copyright, Vu Cat Tuong has revoked all copyright authorizations of If from third parties, since October 9.

If you want to perform or exploit commercially, the singer or unit must contact Vu Cat Tuong directly.

Regarding Lam Bao Ngoc's statement that he had contacted Vu Cat Tuong's team to resolve the matter, the singer born in 1992 responded: "After checking the phone number, post office box, and public working email, we confirm that from October 7 to before 8:00 p.m. October 8 (the time the singer posted content on mass media mentioning the author and the work), we did not receive any text messages, notifications, or emails sent from the singer."

Vu Cat Tuong's side added that as soon as they learned of this false information, on the afternoon of October 9, the crew proactively sent an email asking Lam Bao Ngoc to clarify the information that was self-posted on social media, which had not been verified and "affected the reputation of Vu Cat Tuong and the crew".

"However, that same evening, Lam Bao Ngoc's representative responded and confirmed that he had contacted Vu Cat Tuong's representative but could not provide any evidence.

When asked to provide evidence, Lam Bao Ngoc's side said that they had contacted Vu Cat Tuong's old personal phone number which was no longer in use and was not public or official contact information. Therefore, we cannot respond when we have not received any notification sent to us," Vu Cat Tuong's team said.
