On the evening of October 8, on her personal page, Lam Bao Ngoc spoke out about using the song "If" by Vu Cat Tuong in some music events.

Accordingly, Lam Bao Ngoc said that this song was authorized by singer and musician Vu Cat Tuong to the Vietnam Center for Music Copyright Protection (VCPMC).

Therefore, she and the organizing units are always aware of and fully carry out their responsibilities regarding copyright, asking for permission and paying fees at VCPMC to perform this song.

"Specifically, in the solo show Ngoc Mini Concert taking place in December 2023, Ngoc and his crew applied for copyright to perform according to a list of 16 songs, including the song "If". The list of songs and receipts for copyright fees were all attached by Lam Bao Ngoc's crew to the application for permission to organize the performance and submitted to the relevant authorities to obtain a performance license.

Regarding posting the cover clip on his personal YouTube channel, Lam Bao Ngoc also paid royalties for copyright use to VCPMC and fully credited in the detailed content section," Lam Bao Ngoc explained.

Speaking more about the copyright perspective in music, the singer affirmed that she is always aware of the importance and respects copyright issues when exploiting content from other units. Therefore, she and her team always emphasize and require copyright issues to be implemented with organizations, big or small.

"During the performance contract signing process, Lam Bao Ngoc and the company are always responsible for registering the list of songs including the number of songs, song names, and author names with the organizing unit. The contract must include a clause stating that: The Organizing Committee is responsible for applying for a license and performing copyright obligations for songs that are not exclusively owned by singer Lam Bao Ngoc," she said.

Regarding the above incident, Lam Bao Ngoc said that she had directly contacted Vu Cat Tuong to resolve the issue but had not received any response. The female singer also apologized to Vu Cat Tuong as well as the audience who were following the incident for causing everyone to be upset.

Previously, on October 7, a post believed to be from Vu Cat Tuong's crew spoke up about this musician's song being used widely without permission.

The post did not name anyone, but many viewers mentioned Lam Bao Ngoc and assumed that she was the person mentioned in the post.

In her post, Lam Bao Ngoc said that there was an article that specifically named and attached her image to the song "If". Therefore, she decided to speak up to clarify public opinion.

The singer said she will continue to provide information as soon as she receives an official response from Vu Cat Tuong.
