At the reception, Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Truong expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation of embassies of countries and the European Union to visit and work in Lao Cai province - a border province with great potential for economic development, trade, tourism and international cooperation.

Over the years, Lao Cai has established and developed many cooperative relationships with international partners in many fields such as trade, tourism, education, agriculture and sustainable development. Lao Cai province always attaches special importance to investment cooperation and is ready to welcome and create favorable conditions for international investors and partners to come to the province. In particular, Lao Cai especially appreciates the attention and support from the Embassies, considering this an important bridge to help strengthen the cooperative relationship between Lao Cai province and other countries. In 2024 alone, the province welcomed many embassies from China, Japan, Thailand, the United States, Israel, Australia, UAE, etc. and continued to maintain close cooperative relationships, while organizing many working delegations of provincial leaders to countries/regions to promote bilateral cooperation.

Lao Cai Province wishes to continue to expand and deepen its relations with international partners, making the most of the benefits from the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) as well as other bilateral cooperation mechanisms. Lao Cai Province believes that, with the support from embassies, international organizations and the business community, Lao Cai will become an attractive destination for foreign investors, contributing to promoting sustainable socio-economic development, not only within the framework of cooperation with the EU but also with important partners such as Azerbaijan, Argentina, Poland, Belarus, Kazakhstan, South Africa, the Philippines, Turkey, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Vietnam.

On behalf of the delegation of ambassadors, Mr. Julien Guerrier, Ambassador of the European Union Delegation to Vietnam, thanked Lao Cai province for the warm and friendly welcome to the delegation. He also expressed his admiration for the development of Lao Cai. Through the introduction of the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Truong, Mr. Julien Guerrier and the delegation saw that Lao Cai is a land of development. In recent years, the European Union in Vietnam has had many effective cooperations with Vietnam and some provinces and cities in Vietnam, especially in infrastructure investment, green energy sector, especially carbon reduction, supporting human resource development, paying attention to projects training women to respond to climate change, and projects led by women.

Mr. Julien Guerrier, Ambassador of the European Union Delegation to Vietnam, said that the European Union Delegation to Vietnam and Lao Cai province have many opportunities for cooperation, especially in the field of infrastructure investment, road investment, including railways. Mr. Julien Guerrier affirmed that he will strengthen the cooperative relationship, and be with Lao Cai province as a reliable partner of the province. At the reception, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Ambassadors, and Heads of the Embassy Delegations of the countries also expressed their willingness to learn and expand relations with Lao Cai, and at the same time, hoped that this visit would open up new opportunities for strong, long-term and effective cooperation between the parties.
