On June 26, the An Giang Provincial Police Investigation Security Agency announced that the unit had just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Chau Soc Phol (34 years old) for the act of illegally storing, using, and trading military weapons and Nguyen Cong Thuan (27 years old, both residing in Tri Ton District, An Giang) for the act of illegally trading military weapons.

According to the initial investigation results, around the end of September 2022, while buying drugs from Chau Soc Phol, Nguyen Cong Thuan told Phol if he needed to buy a military gun, Thuan would sell it to Phol and Phol agreed. After that, Thuan contacted Thach Ngoc Kim (23 years old, living in the same locality) to order a Rulo gun and 6 bullets to resell to Phol.
After receiving Thuan's gun, Phol tried to shoot it but it did not fire. Phol asked to exchange the gun but Thuan refused so Phol kept it to resell for profit.

On November 4, 2022, Phol was contacted by a man named Sang via Zalo to order drugs. Phol agreed and "invited" him to sell a gun. Sang asked Phol to bring the gun along when he delivered the drugs. On the way to deliver the drugs to Sang, Phol was discovered by the Tri Ton District Police, caught red-handed, and seized evidence including more than 29 grams of crystal meth, along with a Rulo gun and 6 bullets.
According to the police, Thach Ngoc Kim is being prosecuted and detained by the Investigation Security Agency of Binh Phuoc Province Police for illegally storing and trading military weapons.
Previously, on the morning of June 24, the Investigation Security Agency of An Giang Provincial Police issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and execute an order to temporarily detain Lam Thien Nhat (29 years old, residing in Nui Sap Town, Thoai Son District, An Giang) to investigate the act of illegally manufacturing, storing, and trading military weapons.

According to the initial investigation results, on December 15, 2022, Nhat was brought 2 homemade guns of the Rulo ZP5 type by a person to the place where Nhat was staying in Nui Sap town to rent for repair. After that, Nhat went online to see how to assemble guns and then took the 2 broken guns to assemble a complete gun, then hid it in the rented room.
In addition, from about January to June 2021, Nhat also went on social media to order 3 guns, completely assembled them, and hid them in his rented room.
On December 20, 2022, Thoai Son District Police inspected Nhat's rented room and discovered and temporarily seized 5 guns of various types, 4 bullets and 4 kg of lead bullets, along with many other related evidences.
According to the appraisal results of the Criminal Science Institute of the Ministry of Public Security, 2 out of 5 guns seized in Nhat's rented room were military weapons.
Currently, the above cases of illegal purchase, manufacture, storage and use of military weapons are being further investigated and handled by the Investigation Security Agency of An Giang Provincial Police in accordance with the provisions of law.
