To help people be proactive in their financial activities, commercial banks have publicly announced their holiday schedules for April 30 and May 1 many days in advance. Accordingly, most banks will close at the end of April 26 and reopen for direct transactions and work on May 2. Transactions conducted via online platforms will continue to operate throughout the holidays.

Currently, the province has 35 commercial bank branches with a system of 342 ATMs and more than 2,000 POS machines. To ensure the quality, security and safety of ATM operations as well as to conduct banking transactions before, during and after the April 30-May 1 holiday, the State Bank - Thanh Hoa Province Branch (SBV Thanh Hoa) has issued a document directing credit institutions in the area to proactively develop and implement a specific plan for the operation of ATMs. At the same time, there are appropriate funding solutions for ATMs, especially in areas with a large number of tourists visiting and on holiday, such as: Sam Son City; Hai Tien tourist area (Hoang Hoa); Hai Hoa tourist area, Nghi Son town... which are often likely to be overloaded due to sudden increases in transaction demand, thereby promptly meeting the needs of the people.

The State Bank of Thanh Hoa has directed credit institutions in the province to ensure stable and smooth operation of payment systems; ensure the provision of electronic payment services, card payments on the ATM/POS system is stable, safe, effective, meeting people's payment needs; ensure the provision of smooth payment services to meet production and business needs as well as payment and shopping needs of people. For other transactions such as: QR code scanning, payment via smart banking applications..., banks have paid attention to investing in improving service quality, upgrading software. At the same time, arrange technical staff to take measures to handle congestion as soon as an incident occurs due to an overload of customers accessing.

If on normal days, banks replenish funds 1-2 times/week, then on long holidays like this year, banks replenish funds 4-5 times/week and on the last day before the holiday, 100% of ATMs are replenished, ensuring smooth operation. In addition, banks have coordinated with maintenance companies to review and maintain all ATMs, POS machines, and continuously upgrade software to limit errors.

For online transactions, the bank has also proactively upgraded its modern technology infrastructure to limit system overload when the number of transactions increases suddenly. In the first two days of the holiday, the number of online transactions increased by about 20% compared to the previous days.
