One of the common tricks and methods used by these subjects is to create a website with a domain name and interface similar to that of a press agency, using the same logo, font, and color as a press agency. Recently, there have been subjects who copied the interface, folder structure, and article content of VTC News Electronic Newspaper, posting them on websites with similar domain names such as: vtc.net. vtc.com…. This entire interface, if not professionally trained, is difficult to distinguish between a real website and a fake one.
It is worth mentioning that the risk of inserting bad, toxic information, and fraudulent information into articles with images stolen from official newspapers will cause greater consequences. When people see the newspaper's logo, provide information and images, they believe in that information, leading to being deceived. In addition to taking information and images from newspapers, some subjects also make money from advertising good content or inserting links to introduce products and services.

Also with the impersonation behavior, from the beginning of 2023 until now, many fake fanpages of Vietnam Television programs have continuously appeared. VTV News Electronic Newspaper has had to regularly broadcast its warning information about impersonating VTV News to organize events. In which, the subjects use the entire interface of VTV News Electronic Newspaper to call for participation in courses and extracurricular programs for children during the summer vacation.
In mid-August, the Vietnam Fake News Handling Center (Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information) also received and handled the reflection of VTV News Electronic Newspaper on the spread of fake images of VTV News Electronic Newspaper on social networks to report distorted news about Party and State leaders. The information posted contained edited content and impersonated VTV News Electronic Newspaper to create sensational headlines, report news, and post edited images that were not true.
The sophisticated trick of these fake news websites is to keep the entire content of the articles of the official press agencies intact but will insert some articles according to their intentions into these pages... According to the assessment of the authorities, the tricks of these subjects are very sophisticated and will cause serious consequences if not prevented in time.
Not only central press agencies, local press agencies are also being faked. At the end of August 2023, a fanpage named “BaoNam Dinh.online” appeared on Facebook. This page currently has nearly 186 likes and nearly 200 followers. This fanpage provides contact information as “[email protected]. Other introductory information about this page is hidden. The use of the name “BaoNam Dinh.online” by this page has confused many people because they thought this was a fanpage of Nam Dinh Newspaper.
Nam Dinh Newspaper has issued a warning about the situation of fake fanpages of the newspaper on the Facebook platform.
In addition, this fanpage posted some information from Nam Dinh Newspaper without permission or citation. Some information about the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, investment and construction was posted by Nam Dinh Newspaper but was also copied and posted incompletely by this fanpage. Many images of leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee were posted, cut and pasted together with advertising information for housing projects, tourist areas, and information about construction works.

These fake pages also combine "unique, strange, shocking" news to shock and arouse curiosity. Such pages also have a team of technical staff who are very good at technology to highlight information, this is the limitation of local Party newspapers.
In the past time, Nam Dinh newspaper has continuously updated many important and quality news, trying to deliver as quickly as possible with the highest information content, but very quickly after publication, personal news sites took it, without citing the source and using technology to highlight and attract readers quickly.
