On the morning of March 19, frost appeared in Ta Xua (Ban Cong commune, Tram Tau district, Yen Bai), a rare phenomenon at this time of year.

Mr. Dao Viet Nghiem, Chairman of Ban Cong commune, said that every year, Ta Xua still experiences frost , mainly in winter (December and January) or at most in February.

This is the first time people have seen ice forming in March. The ice is white, covering many trees here.

Previously, the last time frost appeared in Ta Xua (Yen Bai) was during the cold spell on January 11.

Frost forms when the ground temperature drops to 0 degrees Celsius, while the air remains above freezing.

Water vapor in the air layer close to the ground condenses, crystallizes into small ice particles, sticks to trees, the ground and creates a white scene.

This phenomenon usually occurs from midnight to morning, lasting from 7-9am before dissipating in the sunlight.

Ta Xua, with an altitude of over 2,800m, is not only famous for cloud hunting but also one of the areas with ice in winter.
