The price of SJC 4-digit 9 gold bars was listed in Hanoi at VND74.2 million per tael for buying and VND76.72 million per tael for selling.

Meanwhile, the price of SJC gold bars traded at DOJI in Hanoi at the end of the session on January 27 was listed at 73.9 million VND per tael for buying and 76.65 million VND per tael for selling.

The international spot gold price on the Kitco floor ended the week at $2,018.8 per ounce. The gold price for April 2024 delivery on the Comex floor in New York was $2,036.1 per ounce.

The central exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the US dollar announced by the State Bank on January 26 was 24,036 VND/USD, up 5 VND compared to the previous session. The USD price at commercial banks on January 27 was listed around 24,395-24,765 VND/USD (buy - sell).

The world USD price tends to go down. The DXY index - measuring the strength of the USD compared to 6 major currencies - closed the week at 103.47 points, down 0.1% compared to the previous session.

International oil prices rose sharply at the end of the week, reaching their highest level in nearly two months. Brent crude oil ended the week at $83.55 per barrel, while WTI crude oil rose to $78.01 per barrel.

Oil prices climbed thanks to a series of supportive factors, such as positive economic growth in the US and signs of economic stimulus in China expected to boost demand, along with concerns about increasing supply shortages due to conflicts in the Middle East that show no signs of cooling down.

In the domestic market, the selling prices of gasoline and oil today, January 28, are applied according to the prices at the management session on the afternoon of January 25 of the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade.

Retail prices of gasoline and oil have been adjusted upward. Notably, the price of RON 95 gasoline has increased beyond VND23,000 per liter.

Specifically, the price of E5 gasoline was raised to 22,170 VND per liter. The price of RON95 gasoline increased to 23,400 VND per liter.
Diesel price increased to 20,370 VND per liter. Kerosene price increased to 20,540 VND per liter.
