Meanwhile, the price of SJC gold bars traded at DOJI in Hanoi at the end of the session on January 23 was listed at 73.95 million VND per tael for buying and 76.45 million VND per tael for selling.

The international spot gold price on the Kitco floor at 9:38 p.m. on January 23, Vietnam time was at $2,023.3 per ounce. The gold price for April 2024 delivery on the Comex New York floor was at $2,044.3 per ounce.

Gold prices today, January 24, on the world market are under strong downward pressure as the USD rises. However, domestically, SJC gold bar prices continue to rise during the peak season of gold consumption and before the God of Wealth festival.

On the stock market , at the end of the trading session on January 23, the VN-Index decreased by 5.36 points, down to 1,177.5 points. The HNX-Index decreased by 0.51 points, down to 229.26 points. The UpCOM-Index decreased by 0.27 points, down to 87.45 points.

The central exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the US dollar announced by the State Bank on January 23 was 24,030 VND/USD, down 1 VND compared to the previous session. The USD price at commercial banks on January 23 increased slightly, listed at the end of the session around 24,260-24,730 VND/USD (buy - sell).

The world USD price also tends to increase. The DXY index - measuring the strength of the USD compared to 6 major currencies - at 9:33 p.m. on January 23, Vietnam time was at 103.46 points, up 0.12% compared to the previous session.

Gasoline prices today, January 24, continued to decline following the previous session's decline. A series of factors affecting supply and demand have made investors cautious.

In the domestic market, the selling prices of gasoline and oil today, January 24, are applied according to the prices at the management session on the afternoon of January 18 of the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade.

Gasoline prices were adjusted up accordingly. Of which, RON 95 gasoline price increased beyond 22,000 VND per liter.

Specifically, the price of E5 gasoline increased to 21,410 VND per liter. The price of RON 95 gasoline was raised to 22,480 VND per liter.

While diesel price increased to 20,190 VND per liter, kerosene price increased to 20,530 VND per liter.
