Meanwhile, the price of SJC gold bars traded at DOJI in Hanoi at the end of the session on January 22 was listed at 73.45 million VND per tael for buying and 75.95 million VND per tael for selling.

The international spot gold price on the Kitco floor at 9:48 p.m. on January 22, Vietnam time was at $2,021.2 per ounce. The gold price for April 2024 delivery on the Comex New York floor was at $2,043 per ounce.

Gold prices today, January 23, on the world market decreased in the early trading session in the US, in the context of the country's economy being better than expected.

On the stock market , at the end of the trading session on January 22, the VN-Index increased by 1.36 points to 1,182.86 points. The HNX-Index increased by 0.29 points to 229.77 points. The UPCoM-Index increased by 0.25 points to 87.72 points.

The central exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the US dollar announced by the State Bank on January 22 was 24,031 VND/USD, down 6 VND compared to the previous session. The USD price at commercial banks on January 22 decreased slightly, listed at the end of the session around 24,235-24,705 VND/USD (buy - sell).

The world USD price also went down. The DXY index - measuring the strength of the USD against 6 major currencies - at 9:43 p.m. on January 22, Vietnam time was at 103.22 points, down 0.07% compared to the previous session.

Today, January 23, the price of gasoline and oil on the international market tends to increase. Increased tension in the Middle East pushes up oil prices.

In the domestic market, the selling prices of gasoline and oil today, January 23, are applied according to the prices at the management session on the afternoon of January 18 of the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade.

Gasoline prices were adjusted up accordingly. Notably, the price of RON 95 gasoline increased beyond VND22,000 per liter.

Specifically, the price of E5 gasoline increased to 21,410 VND per liter. The price of RON 95 gasoline was raised to 22,480 VND per liter.

Meanwhile, diesel price increased to 20,190 VND per liter and kerosene price increased to 20,530 VND per liter.
