The price of SJC 4-digit 9 gold bars was listed in Hanoi at VND74 million per tael for buying and VND76.52 million per tael for selling.
Meanwhile, the price of SJC gold bars traded at DOJI in Hanoi at the end of the session on January 18 was listed at 73.95 million VND per tael for buying and 76.45 million VND per tael for selling.
The international spot gold price on the Kitco floor at 9:46 p.m. on January 18, Vietnam time was at $2,011.4 per ounce. The gold price for February 2024 delivery on the Comex New York floor was at $2,014.3 per ounce.
Gold price today, January 19, on the international market remained around 2,000 USD per ounce due to the rising USD and some economic data that is unfavorable for gold. Meanwhile, the price of SJC gold bars increased.
On the stock market , at the end of the trading session on January 18, the VN-Index increased by 6.53 points, to 1,169.06 points. The HNX-Index increased by 0.42 points, to 229.93 points. The UpCOM-Index increased by 0.2 points, to 87.16 points.
The central exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the US dollar announced by the State Bank on January 18 was 24,041 VND/USD, up 24 VND compared to the previous session. The USD price at commercial banks on January 18 increased slightly, at the end of the session it was listed around 24,355-24,725 VND/USD (buy - sell).
Meanwhile, the world USD price tends to increase. The DXY index - measuring the strength of the USD compared to 6 major currencies - at 9:44 p.m. on January 18, Vietnam time was at 103.48 points, up 0.03% compared to the previous session.
Today's gasoline and oil prices on January 19 in the international market are likely to maintain the upward momentum from the previous session.
Oil prices rose as the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries forecast that global crude oil demand will increase relatively strongly in 2024 and 2025. In addition, disruptions to US oil production due to severe weather and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East also caused oil prices to increase.
In the domestic market, the selling prices of gasoline and oil today, January 19, are applied according to the prices at the management session on the afternoon of January 18 of the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade.
Accordingly, gasoline prices were adjusted upward. Notably, the price of RON 95 gasoline increased beyond VND22,000 per liter.
Specifically, the price of E5 gasoline increased by 370 VND per liter, the selling price increased to 21,410 VND per liter. The price of RON 95 gasoline increased by 550 VND per liter, the selling price is 22,480 VND per liter.
Diesel price increased by 490 VND per liter, selling price up to 20,190 VND per liter. Kerosene price increased by 200 VND per liter, selling price is 20,530 VND per liter.
