The price of SJC 4-digit 9 gold bars was listed in Hanoi at VND74 million per tael for buying and VND76.52 million per tael for selling.
Meanwhile, the price of SJC gold bars traded at DOJI in Hanoi at the end of the session on January 15 was listed at 73.95 million VND per tael for buying and 76.45 million VND per tael for selling.
The international spot gold price on the Kitco floor at 9:32 p.m. on January 15, Vietnam time was at $2,052.4 per ounce. The gold price for February 2024 delivery on the Comex New York floor was at $2,057.5 per ounce.
Gold prices today, January 16, on the world market continued to increase as geopolitical instability in the Middle East is at risk of lasting. The price of SJC gold bars cooled down a bit but remained at a sky-high level, 15.2 million VND per tael higher than the converted world price.
On the stock market , at the end of the trading session on January 15, the VN-Index decreased by 0.58 points, down to 1,154.12 points. The HNX-Index decreased by 2.76 points, down to 227.55 points. The UPCoM-Index decreased by 0.28 points, down to 86.61 points.
The central exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the US dollar announced by the State Bank on January 16 was 23,992 VND/USD, up 16 VND compared to the previous session. The USD price at commercial banks on January 15 fluctuated slightly, at the end of the session it was listed around 24,265-24,635 VND/USD (buy - sell).
The world USD price tends to increase. The DXY index - measuring the strength of the USD compared to 6 major currencies - at 9:22 p.m. on January 15, Vietnam time was at 102.65 points, up 0.24% compared to the previous session.
Today, January 16, the price of gasoline and oil in the international market decreased following the downward trend from the previous session. Brent oil price fell to 77 USD per barrel and WTI oil price fell to 71 USD per barrel.
In the domestic market, the selling price of gasoline and oil today, January 16, is applied according to the price at the management session on the afternoon of January 11.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have adjusted the price of gasoline and oil to increase. In particular, the price of RON 95 gasoline has increased to nearly 22,000 VND per liter.
Specifically, the retail price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased to VND21,040 per liter. The price of RON 95 gasoline increased to VND21,930 per liter.
While diesel price increased to 19,700 VND per liter, kerosene price increased to 20,330 VND per liter.
