Luc Binh commune is supported with information technology application equipment.

Luc Binh is a commune with many difficulties in Bach Thong district with the majority of people being ethnic minorities. Implementing Sub-project 2, Project 10 of the National Target Program, in early 2024, the commune was supported with equipment and machinery to set up a support point for ethnic minorities to apply information technology at the People's Committee of the commune. Since the support point was established, it has created conditions for people to learn about and exploit digital applications and platforms, opening up opportunities for socio-economic development, ensuring security and order in the locality.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hau, Chairman of Luc Binh Commune People's Committee said: "The above support is very practical, helping people access more information about the Party and State's guidelines, policies and laws via the internet; study, improve qualifications, knowledge, production skills, economic development...".

Since mid-2020, implementing the National Digital Transformation Program, along with 07 other communes nationwide, the Department of Information Technology under the Ministry of Information and Communications has coordinated with technology enterprises to support Vi Huong commune, Bach Thong district to pilot digital transformation in various fields. Vi Huong commune considers this an opportunity to promote socio-economic development, shortening the development gap. The simultaneous implementation of many projects and programs, including Sub-project 2, Project 10 of the National Target Program, helps the commune have more resources for digital transformation. The equipment provided under the project such as smart TVs, speakers, amplifiers located at the commune cultural house greatly supports common activities when organizing conferences, seminars, training sessions or providing access for people.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Vi Huong commune, said: “Previously, the commune faced many difficulties in supporting people to apply IT; access information on the Party and State's guidelines, policies and laws via the Internet; use online public services... Since the national digital transformation program was launched, with the support of the Department of Information Technology under the Ministry of Information and Communications, technology enterprises and Project 10, the National Target Program... have helped people have more access to IT to serve digital transformation".

Supported equipment has been put into effective use by communes.

Sub-project 2, Project 10 of the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas on supporting the establishment of support points for ethnic minorities to apply information technology in 12 communes and towns of Bach Thong district with a total amount of over 1 billion VND. By the end of July 2024, the Project has deployed the installation of equipment at support points for ethnic minorities to apply information technology at the People's Committees of extremely disadvantaged communes. Currently, the communes have been handed over and put into operation and use. The number of support equipment is in accordance with the list of equipment specified in Circular No. 03 of the Ministry of Information and Communications.

The program aims to support ethnic minorities in applying information technology; accessing information on the Party and State's guidelines, policies and laws via the internet; using online public services... At the same time, it also contributes to promoting the implementation of digital transformation in ethnic minority areas in the province./.
