(Dan Tri) - "Dad has arms, legs, and health, so he can still earn a living. Let him work by himself," the father's text message moved the girl and netizens.
Recently, a post appeared on social media with a screenshot of a conversation between a daughter and her father - a 60-year-old delivery driver, which warmed public opinion and received endless praise.
Dad sent a photo of his first day at work that touched his daughter (Photo: Character provided).
In the posted message, the father sent a photo of himself wearing a technology delivery driver's shirt, showing off his first day at his new job to his daughter.
The post has attracted tens of thousands of views and interactions. In the comments section, many people expressed their emotion when the man, despite his age, still chose to earn his own living and not be a burden to his daughter.
The author of the article, Ms. Nguyen Hanh (living in Ho Chi Minh City) said that her father used to be a car mechanic, working hard day and night to raise 3 talented children.
When the children grew up, his car workshop business was no longer as stable as before. His health was also affected by the harsh working environment and exposure to chemicals. Therefore, Hanh's father was forced to stop this job.
"After staying at home for a while, my father started to feel bored. He was always an independent person, he didn't like to bother or force his children to take care of him. He often said that he had arms and legs, and was healthy so he could still earn a living, then convinced his children to let him work to relieve his boredom," said Ms. Hanh.
No sooner had he said it than Hanh’s father signed up to be a tech delivery driver. On his first day at work, he wore the delivery company’s shirt, took a photo and sent it to his daughter.
"At first, my family did not support my father's choice because they were worried that this job would be tiring. He would be out in the sun for many hours and it would affect his health. However, he begged us many times, so we had to comply," said Ms. Hanh.
Even though he only works for a few hours and earns more than 100,000 VND per day, Ms. Hanh’s father always looks cheerful and optimistic. He often buys food and drinks for his wife or saves the money he earns to drink coffee and meet friends.
"Since I started working, I have seen my father become much happier. He has also given me more motivation to work and contribute. With the upcoming Lunar New Year, I hope that the workers who are struggling to make a living will have a fulfilling holiday, worthy of the fruits of their labor throughout the year," Ms. Hanh shared.
