"Truong Sa - Where We Come" journey connecting islands and the hearts of youth

On March 26, in Hanoi, Kim Dong Publishing House organized the exchange program Truong Sa - Where We Come. The event took place on the occasion of Youth Month and the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, aiming to help the young generation better understand the homeland's sea and islands and the people who guard the sovereignty of the Fatherland day and night.

The exchange was attended by 3 special guests, who are authors with many works written about Truong Sa: poet Tran Dang Khoa - author of Dao Sink , journalist Nguyen My Tra - author of Truong Sa - where we come and writer Nguyen Xuan Thuy - author of Toi tell you the story of Truong Sa. They represent 3 generations sharing the same love and attachment to the sacred land in the middle of the East Sea.

Poet Tran Dang Khoa shared special memories when he wrote about Truong Sa, a place he directly experienced and felt with all his heart. He also talked about the journey of journalist My Tra, who recorded emotional moments in the distant sea. Journalist Nguyen My Tra talked about the times she drifted at sea, the days she lived with the island soldiers, and the moments when just a strong wind could make the ship shake violently. The photos she captured were not only images, but also real emotional slices of life on a remote island.

Writer Nguyen Xuan Thuy - a soldier who has been attached to Truong Sa for many years - brought emotional stories to the students. He told about the harshness of nature and the warm humanity of the remote island. "The sea in Truong Sa is saltier than other seas. The sea is saltier because of the tears of writers, poets, journalists and thousands of Vietnamese children who come to Truong Sa every year", writer Nguyen Xuan Thuy said and emphasized that no matter how developed society is, how advanced technology is, people still live by their true emotions. Through sincere stories, he helped the students feel more clearly the resilient spirit of the island soldiers.

Poet Tran Dang Khoa also shared with young readers the concepts of sovereignty over seas and islands and the role of landmarks on the Truong Sa archipelago. He emphasized that, besides the physical landmarks built of steel and cement, there are "other sovereignty landmarks that are much more durable and cannot be eroded by any storm". That is the sacrifice of many generations of sea and island soldiers.
