(Dan Tri) - On weekends, Mrs. Tu and her grandson film videos and post them on TikTok. Scenes of her performing skits, singing, or advertising her son's pajama brand bring a lot of excitement to viewers.

"When sales are slow, do these things to "get lucky" in selling," Ms. Tu (real name Chiem, 88 years old, living in Long An) began the clip posted on social media.

The video quickly garnered over 1.1 million views and hundreds of thousands of interactions. In the comments section, many people expressed their delight at the humor and admiration for the optimism of the woman, who is approaching 90 years old.

Hoang Quan (22 years old), Mrs. Tu's nephew, said that during the Covid-19 period in 2021, Quan was temporarily out of school so he returned to his hometown to live with his family.

"Every day, seeing my grandmother just hanging around the house, I came up with the idea of showing her the smartphone. At first, she was shy because she couldn't keep up, but after a while, she felt excited. Since learning how to use the phone, she often calls her children and grandchildren, plays music, and even surfs social networks and laughs happily," Quan said.

At the end of 2021, while filming a video to post on social media, the 22-year-old man asked his grandmother to play a role in his skit. The old lady immediately agreed and together with her grandson came up with ideas, learned lines, and acted.

At first, the grandmother and granddaughter had to film over and over again because they were not used to being in front of the camera. However, as long as Quan guided them on the idea and how to express it naturally, Mrs. Tu nodded and did it over and over again without a single complaint.

Not only that, she is also a perfectionist, asking her grandson to film more if she feels the scene is not perfect.

At first, Quan proposed to record a video of himself singing Cai Luong, but his grandmother refused because she was not confident enough. After a while of convincing from her grandson, Mrs. Tu finally gave it a try. Surprisingly, the video was enthusiastically supported by netizens. Many were even moved by her simplicity, which reminded them of their own relatives.

"Originally, I just wanted to post the video online to preserve the memories between the two of us, but I didn't expect to receive support and praise from netizens. The first video posted reached 3 million views, many people praised my grandmother for being so clear-headed and agile at her age," Quan shared.

Reading the positive comments, Mrs. Tu became more and more excited. From then on, every weekend, she and her grandson recorded videos together. The content posted on social media by the two of them often revolved around stories about daily life in the peaceful countryside, with familiar and humorous dialogues. The two also regularly recorded promotional videos for Mrs. Tu's son's pajama brand. Thanks to that, the family's products received more and more support.

Many brands contacted him to sign advertising contracts, but Quan refused them all because he only wanted to use his TikTok channel to create positive energy with his grandmother, relatives, and viewers.

When Quan returned to Ho Chi Minh City to continue his studies, Mrs. Tu looked forward to her grandson coming home every weekend, calling to ask about the content of the video to be recorded so she could prepare in time.

"My grandmother used to feel lonely because of her old age, always lying in one place missing her children and grandchildren who work far away, leading to many illnesses. But since filming TikTok, she has become happier, knows how to entertain herself, and connects with people around her. To ensure her health, I only film videos on weekends, and it only takes 1-2 hours for the two of us to complete them," Quan shared.

Mrs. Tu has 9 children and currently lives with her youngest son's family. Previously, she worked hard all her life, rolling around the fields to raise her children. Through all the hardships, Quan confided that his grandmother never complained, always loved and devoted everything she had to her children and grandchildren.
